* Week 3/4 Power Rankings - tlk742 - 08-07-2017 Here I am with week 4’s power rankings. No week 3 as it was a double header weekend. For those curious, the Yeti are #1 on the index power rankings. A power rating indicates that if two teams face off on neutral ground, the higher power ranking should win, does it hold? It's why we play the game. One thing to note, there are only two teams that lose at home – Liberty and Legion. Something interesting. 1. ![]() The Man Who Would be King is a great film, really underrated classic. Sean Connery & Michael Caine are quite the duo in that film. I’m not going to spoil the movie, but it’s well worth a watch, and reminded me of the week 3 game. It’s not that the Wraiths lost in Colorado, it’s that the Yeti stopped them and held them to 3 points. The team is ten points shy of a 2:1 points scored: points allowed ratio, that’s nuts. 2. ![]() The Outlaws defense remains stout, and have allowed only 2 field goals worth of points more than the Yeti and when they went up against the I-HOP kings, they got 7 sacks, that’s crazy. The Outlaws lost at Colorado but kept the game much closer than people thought they would. The offense still needs a bit of work, but Bronko put on a show this weekend that’s hard to ignore. 3. ![]() #Snowbirdroadtrip continues. The loss at the Yetis is not going to disappear from a Legion win, but a much-needed win in Arizona could change the course of the season and the away game streak. Also, what happened to Darren Smallwood? He’s been on the decline since preseason week 4 as West has been slowly climbing. 4. ![]() The Sabercats have been my crush team, that is no lie. I’m pretty high on them. But a close game at home against the Hawks showed some real signs of struggling this past week. 20 unanswered points in the second half does leave some concerns though. Fun fact, Hunt has the highest completion percentage of any quarterback this year so far. 5. ![]() Boss is still bottom 4 in Yards, Percentage and Interceptions. I know it may be me sounding like Mel Kiper saying they need a new QB, but Orange County needs a new QB. Phelps had a 100 yard game, so that was good. But overall, the Otters are still hard to gauge the success of, as they only have one home game. 6. ![]() The Hawks have all the potential in the world. They could take this league by storm. The offense is clicking fine, the defense isn’t a major liability, the wins just aren’t there. That said, I still am holding reservations until this team can get everything on the same page. Christmas leaves the league in touchdowns by the way. 7. ![]() Fox North is the bright spot on the Liberty. The team has been slowly getting it together, but as the wins show, a good wide receiver won’t fix the glaring holes on defense. No other team has let up triple digits worth of points so far beyond the Liberty. And they haven’t faced a really formidable offense beyond the Hawks. But when the lowest number of points allowed is 22 points, the defense clearly needs work. 8. ![]() The line is where problems start, and it shows. The receiving duo of LeClair and Stormblessed should be a dream for any quarterback. But it’s not in Vegas. It’s hard to say whether the problem is Bercovici or the offensive line. The failure of Savea, who is not a bad running back by any means, suggests it is the latter. Shout outs to Tebow and Long who have let up 4 sacks a piece and the former having 9 pancakes, which is the better of the two. Code: 679 words Graded |
