On UW Task 16 - infinitempg - 03-09-2021
I don't do PTs anymore (thanks PT Pass!) but my attention was recently brought to the following task in the Ultimus Week:
Quote:16) The bank now accepts ISFL currency in exchange for real money – every ISFL dollar counts as $0.50 in the real world. How much money would you exchange, and what would you spend it on?
Would anyone here seriously not cash out right away? Heck, your DSFL contract would be worth $3M USD! That is life changing money right there. For context, to be in the 1% you'd have to have about $11.1M in wealth.
Honestly, I'd imagine people would cash out pretty quickly even if the exchange rate was $1M ISFL to $1 USD. People do more work for less money if we're being honest. Obviously it wouldn't be legitimately feasible unless we get a billionaire funder, and even then I think it would kind of taint the league forever.
This isn't a critique of the PT, I think it's a great PT idea and a fun what-if. But oh my god I would never have to work again.

Lots of opportunities here. I'd start my own company tbh where people who don't have ISFL accounts just make graphics and I pay them 5%. They'll have the easiest job ever and have no idea where the hell I'm getting all of this money from.
Imagine making 2 graphics as your job a week and making millions in a single year from that. It'd be so bizarre but you'd just keep doing it.

I said I wouldn't, but that's because I don't like paying taxes. Even $15k, which is the maximum untaxed gift in the United States per person per year, would be life-changing money for me right now. With my current balance, my full cash out would be $6.425M. If it's like the lottery and it's taxed 25%, that means I'm taking home a little over $4.8M.
I mean, I guess I could do that, but I'd rather invest that money in my player right now as a prospect, especially if it's the kind of thing that turns into something you could only do once, which would make sense considering the vast amounts of money that the ISFL would be dealing in.
