Multiple Corrections to the S27 ISFL Awards Show, and an announcement - infinitempg - 03-15-2021
Hello all. It has been brought to my attention that there have been multiple players left off of nominations slides in the S27 ISFL Awards Show. More explanation can be seen in this post correcting the Tight End of the Year slide, but to sum it all up, an unacceptable oversight of procedures led to these mistakes.
There were too many players to contact one by one on Discord, so I am formally and sincerely apologizing to the following players and their GMs for this oversight:
- William Lim (@yonggarius, GMs @Sylphreni and @SchwarzNarr) - Returner of the Year
- J.J. "Jay" Jay-Jaymison (@DGarrett32, GMs @Z-Whiz and @Crunk) - Punter of the Year
- Matthew McDairmid (@Matty7478, GMs @ckroyal92 and @Matty7478) - Kicker of the Year
- Douglas Quaid (@HENDRIX 2.0, GMs @flyeaglesfly29 and @PMoney) - Linebacker of the Year
- Derred De Ville (@Exilizer, GMs @Frostbite and @sakrosankt) - Linebacker of the Year
- Hank Steel (@DrChops, GMs @Dewalt27 and @Highhaschdi) - Defensive Tackle of the Year
- Luca Scabbia (@enigmatic, GMs @Bayley and @TheCC) - Wide Receiver of the Year and Offensive Breakout Player of the Year
- Tychondrius Hood (@Tylus, GMs @ckroyal92 and @Matty7478) - Wide Receiver of the Year
- Jamar Lackson (@BenDover, GMs @ckroyal92 and @Matty7478) - Running Back of the Year
- James Wilkinson (@treant, GMs @woelkers and @zaynzk) - Offensive Rookie of the Year, name was also misspelled
- Jackie Daytona (@Mooty99, GMs @Amidships and @Kyle) - Offensive Rookie of the Year
- Steven Wadham (@Arvot, GMs @ddrector and @mithrandir) - Defensive Rookie of the Year, name was also misspelled
- George O'Donnell (@Leafer, GMs @Bayley and @TheCC) - Offensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player
Additionally, I have apologies to give to nominees for User Awards who were left off due to the limit of five nominees on a slide:
- New Orleans GMs @ddrector and @mithrandir, for being left off the General Manager of the Year slide
- @r0tzbua and @"Punter715", for being left off the Most Dedicated Member slide
I know mass apologies sort of lose their value the more people you are apologizing to, and I wish I could have contacted all of you in Discord to apologize one on one. However, I do want you all to know that I am deeply sorry for this oversight and wish that I had caught it earlier so that you could all receive the honors you deserved in the Awards Show.
I also apologize to the ISFL Awards Committee, as their hard work in narrowing down to a list of nominees for Awards Voting was not recognized due to this. To the ISFL Committee Heads - @Arkz and @Billybolo53, I deeply apologize and hope you pass this message on to the committee.
In order to atone for these mistakes, I will be doing three things:
- I will waive my pay for the S27 ISFL Awards Show. There were too many mistakes and it was an unacceptable product. Therefore, I will not take my usual $1.25M payment for its creation.
- I propose a motion to abdicate my S27 Most Dedicated Member Award. A truly dedicated member would not allow such mistakes to occur, and so I feel I am undeserving of the award.
- I will be resigning from the Offseason Events Position upon the hiring of a replacement. Those of you who have been around the block know that there have been many mistakes in these shows in the past, and it appears that it is only getting worse. Clearly I have not been putting enough time in ensuring there are no mistakes, and it is negatively impacting members of this league. This league deserves better, and as such I will open a search for a replacement to put together the Awards shows and ISFL and DSFL Drafts.
This mistake was unacceptable and clearly avoidable, and for that I am truly sorry to all the wonderful users whose contributions on and off the field were not recognized.

You’ve done plenty for this league and so many of those things have been mistakeless. Don’t get down on yourself too much. You’ve been MDM multiple times for a reason. Absolute cornerstone member of this league.

These mistakes happen and shouldn’t and won’t take away from all you’ve done here for the awards man. These happen, and you being quick and making sure things get right shows very well why you deserve that award!
