*A Look Back At Some Berlin Fire Salamanders History - .simo - 05-02-2021 Ok, so one thing I love about these leagues is the history. Being one of the people taken in expansion draft to the Berlin Fire Salamanders has given me a great opportunity to record that history on a brand new team right from day one which is exciting. There are two main things I have been doing for this team as far as history goes. And also before I get started with this I want to give an absolute massive shout out to @infinitempg for his Wolfie Bot and all that he does with this. Before I talked to him and found out he has a website that basically does exactly what I want I was spending hours and hours manually going through the index and box scores to check all our records. His website is an absolute life saver so thank you very much for that. For real people need to be using this site more. It is the best resources this league has. https://isfl-bot.herokuapp.com Ok, now for what this post is about. One thing I've been doing which is more a thing in sports outside of America. A lot of Australian teams have a numbering system like this for national teams. But everyone gets a number which is your franchise number. Normally you just get a number based on when you debut and it will just be the next number off the rank in order but with drafts and such in this sport you often get a few players make their debuts together so for a tie breaker I use either draft position or when they signed in FA. So here below is a list of every player that has played for the Berlin Fire Salamanders. Berlin Fire Salamanders S25 Rookies 1. Asher Quinn, CB | S25 - S27 Dewalt27 | Expansion GM 2. Clark Boyd, TE | S25 - present Cheech65 | Expansion Draft from Sarasota Sailfish 11. Byron Dolls, OL | S25 - present Symmetrik | Expansion Draft from Baltimore Hawks 12. Ananda Adyan, OL | S26 - present TMosura | S25 ISFL Draft 3.09 24. Jeeeeroy Lenkins, CB | S26 - present LewisMelville | S25 ISFL Draft 5.01 25. Bam Bam McMullet, LB | S26 - present manicmav36 | S26 ISFL Draft 1.01 Berlin Fire Salamanders S27 Rookies 26. Derek Wildstar, S | S27 - present LegallyBlindGamer | S26 ISFL Draft 1.11 27. Marlon Brando, DE | S28 - present Menace0528 | S26 ISFL Draft 1.04 30. Eldrick Avery, S | S28 - present RansackTheUniverse | Trade from Baltimore Hawks Then following this any new player to the team through call ups or however else will get the number 31 and we follow on from that. The other thing I have been doing is tracking records trying to keep on top of franchise game records but also season records. Career records will come soon also but with the team being so new and getting better every season there are lots of game records and season too that get broken. Below are basically some discord messages in the channel I was given to be tracking these and keep on top of the records and get people hyped to see how well we keep going. Using Infinite's Wolfie Bot, these stats below were the main ones I was tracking though the season. All Purpose - Yards, Touchdowns, Points Passing - Yards, Touchdowns, Rating Rushing - Yards, Touchdowns, Average Receiving - Yards, Average, Touchdowns Kicking/Punting - XPs Made, FGs Made, Long Punt, Inside 20s Offensive Line - Pancakes Defence - Tackles, Tackles For Loss, Pass Defenced, Interception, Sack, Safety, Touchdowns Special Teams - Kick Return Yards, Kick Return Touchdowns, Punt Return Yards, Punt Return Touchdowns So without more fucking around, here are some of the Berlin franchise records that have been broken this season and also just some great games from people that needed to be talked about. Season 28. Weeks 1-4. So this took me a bit to figure what I was wanting to do. But I have gone back through the stats from games this season and this is what we have so far. Nothing outright 1st but a few things for sure that have tied all time franchise records! Passing - Touchdowns - In both weeks 2 and 3 Our QB tied the #1 record with 3 TDs in both games. We need to crack 4 TDs sometime this season for him. Rushing - Yards - In week 4 against the Sailfish Joe hit 110 yards which put him 6th in BFS history. Danny King still in first with 133. Receiving - Touchdowns - Much like High, Cmon Skiuuup hauled in 2 TDs in both weeks 2 and 3 which tied franchise records. Kicking/Punting - XPs Made - In Week 2 Danny King got to 2nd on the list of XPs made kicking 5 of them. - Inside 20s - Danny King also left his mark in week 3 as he had 4 punts land inside the 20 which is tied for a franchise record. Defence - Pass Defenced - Matt Krause in week 1 and Adam Schell in week 3 both made it into the top 10 with 3 passes defenced each. - Safety - This is a good one. Week 4 saw both Mario von Pebbles and Marlon Brando climb tied first for safeties with 1 each! We have only had 4 in our whole history. - Touchdowns - Eldrick Avery and Matt Krause both are tied top of franchise records for defensive touchdowns with 1 each in weeks 1 and 2 respectively. Special Teams - Punt Return Yards - Matt Krause in week 3 have 40 punt return yards which slid him into 3rd all time for Berlin. Season 28. Week 5. All Purpose - Touchdowns: Petrongolo had an absolute monster game we are about to see here. Tied himself for the franchise record with 3 TDs today. - Points: Joe obviously then also tied the franchise record for points. 18. Rushing - Yards: Along with the TDs Joe ran for 143 yards which is clear in front of the old franchise record by 10 yards!! - Touchdowns: All his TDs from above were rushing so he also tied this franchise record also. - Average: Finally a non Joe record. Terry Yaki with an extremely efficient game sliding in to the 3rd best for Berlin. 11.75 yards per carry. Receiving - Average: Cmon Skiuuup with a great game too and some long catches. Slides into 7th all time here with 32.0 yards. Offensive Line - Pancakes: Byron Dolls had a monster game which paved the way for Joe. 14 pancakes which is 2nd on the franchise records but 1st all time for humans. Defence - Tackles: On the defensive side Matt Krause had 13 tackles which was tied 2nd for the franchise and 1 behind 1st place. Season 28. Week 6+7. Passing - Yards - Big couple of games here from our great Quarter back. Nick Kaepercolin in week 6 set the passing yards record for us with 411. - Yards - Literally the very next game Nick Kaepercolin broke his own record with 61 extra yards putting the bar at a fucking massive 472 yards! - Rating - Week 6 also saw Nick Kaepercolin slide in 9th in passer rating with a 109.186. Receiving - Yards - Week 6 saw Cmon Skiuuup have a 125 yards receiving game enough for 5th all time. - Yards - Week 7 was a great game for Achtfunf with Nick Kaepercolin throwing the ball some had to catch it and Achtfunf was there for 149 yards - 1st. Kicking/Punting - XPs Made - Danny King in both weeks 6 and 7 made 4 XPs - tied second highest. Offensive Line - Pancakes - Byron Dolls @Symmetrik had a monster game with 17 pancakes which smashes his own human record and ties the bot record. Special Teams - Punt Return Yards - Matt Krause in week 6 had 74 yards which is good enough for 2nd. - Punt Return Touchdowns - Matt Krause also in week 6 had our first ever punt return TD so obviously 1st! Season 28. Week 8. Passing So another game and another time that Nick Kaepercolin has been tearing it up. A game with a bunch of things that made it into the top few for categories and touchdowns especially. - Yards - 5th, 358 yeards. - Touchdowns Tied 1st, 3 touchdowns. - Rating 7th, 115.278. Receiving - Touchdowns - Achtfunf, Tied first with like everyone that has caught balls for Berlin with 2. Kicking/Punting - Inside 20s - Danny King had a great game today pinning them inside the 20 a lot especially early on. 2nd highest for Berlin with 3. Not much to talk about as far as individual games in weeks 9 and 10 unfortunately but I am going to take this time to check in on some season records we could see broken. 10 weeks of 16 played so let's take a look at some records that might be broken in S28. Passing All of these are obviously from Nick Kaepercolin. - Yards - 3087/4397 (S27) - The pace Kaeporcolin was on in S27 would have him at 2748 at this point 10 games in so this one is looking good. - Touchdowns - 17/21 (S25) - This one is sure to be broken. 6 games, need 5 TDs. - Rating - 93.028/85.688 (S26) - This one is ahead at this point. Just see if we can keep it there for the next 6 games. Rushing - Yards - 749 (Joe Petrongolo)/1068 (Danny King S25) - Looking good at this point in the season already 3/4 of the way there so basically 2 games ahead of schedule. - Touchdowns - 8 (Joe Petrongolo)/11 (Danny King S26) - This is another that should be broken. Might be a bit closer than the yards though. - Average - 4.993 (Joe Petrongolo)/4.864 (Joe Petrongolo S27) - Similar to the QB rating, this one is in a good space and we just need to keep it there to beat out S27 Joe. Receiving - Touchdowns - 7 (Achtfunf)/6 (Cmon Skiuuup)/10 (Joe Potrongolo S26) - The receiving TDs could be broken by either myself or Skiuuup at this point. He has been known to have some big games so we will have to keep and eye on that one over the next couple of weeks. Offensive Line - Pancakes - 89 (Byron Dolls)/116 (Dieter Wall(bot)) - Dolls already holds the human record for pancakes in a season but the overall record is definitely within striking distance too so looking forward to get a human to the top of our OL records. Defence - Pass Defenced - 22 (Matt Krause)/24 (Matt Krause S27) - Six games to go and only 2 away from the PDs record. This one is almost a certainty. - Safety - 2 Marlon Brando)/1 previous record - Speaking of things that are certainties. This one has already been broken this season! Special Teams - Punt Return Yards - 205 (Matt Krause)/252 (Ashley Quinn S25) - Another one we need to keep an eye on but should fall. Krause just 47 yards away with 6 games to play. - Punt Return Touchdowns - 1 (Matt Krause)/0 - Easy to break this record but still Krause got it done setting the bar for future returners. Season 28. Week 11-16. I have been a bit busy with work and out of town but it's time to catch up on some records now that the season is finished. For Berlin game records we have a few notable performances to talk about in the last few weeks. Passing Nick Kaepercolin has continued his great season for us with a few great performances here. - Yards - 3rd all time for Berlin in week 13 with 403yards. The current record is 472. - Rating - 3rd again in passer rating this time in week 15 with a rating of 127.621. The high water mark here is 134.766. Receiving - Yards - Clark Boyd had himself a game settling in at 3rd all time for Berlin in week 15 receiving for 131. 149 the current record. Kicking/Punting - FGs Made - Danny King matching the current record for most field goals in a game in week 15 with 4 field goals. Defence Matt Krause has also continued to have a crazy good season with 2 outstanding performances in the last two weeks of the season. - Pass Defenced - Tied 1st in week 15 with 5. - Pass Defenced - 2nd in week 16 with 4. Season 28. Now that we have finished the season we can also have a look at some seasonal Berlin records that were broken or some seasons that got close to doing so. All Purpose - Points - First up we have Danny King who broke the all time points record for Berlin clocking up 150 points this season passing the old record of 123. Passing No one will be surprised that Kaepercolin broke all of these. We all knew this was coming. - Yards - 1st in yards with 4973 passing the old record of 4397. - Touchdowns - 1st again by quite a ways with 27 passing 21. - Rating - 1st also in passer rating adding more than 10 points on to the last record with 96.373/85.688 Rushing - Yards - Joe Petrongolo with a very good rushing season also making it to 1st all time with 1129 rush yards. 1068 was the last record. - Touchdowns - Joe Petrongolo 1st also in touchdowns with 12/11. Receiving - Yards - Achtfunf just fell short of 1st all time in yards here falling into 2nd with 1379/1399 just 20 yards short. - Touchdowns - Achtfunf did end up first for receiving TDs though with 11 passing the old mark of 10. Kicking/Punting If Danny King set the all purpose points record he was obviously going to feature here. - XPs Made - Tied 1st with 42 extra points. - FGs Made - 1st in field goals with 36/30. - Inside 20s - 2nd in Inside 20s getting all the way to 27 just falling a few short of 30. Offensive Line Great season by some of our OL people with Byron Dolls and Ananda Adyan both making it to 1st and 2nd compared to other human OL. Byron Dolls season also set the all time record including bots. - Pancakes - Byron Dolls 1st 129/84. - Pancakes - Ananda Adyan 2nd 87/84. Defence - Pass Defenced - Matt Krause with a crazy good season and absolutely smashed the last PD record with 38/24. - Sack - Marlon Brando in his rookie season was immense for us. Tied 3rd with sacks is crazy notching up 9. 14 the current record. - Safety - Marlon Brando along with the sacks set our record for safeties getting 2 in his rookie season. 1 the last record. Special Teams - Punt Return Yards - Matt Krause 1st in PRY notching up 304. 252 the broken record. - Punt Return Touchdowns - Matt Krause 1st 1/0 RE: A Look Back At Some Berlin Fire Salamanders History - Cheech65 - 05-02-2021 Yo these guys look like they might be pretty good RE: *A Look Back At Some Berlin Fire Salamanders History - Highhaschdi - 05-03-2021 Love it, Simo! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
