*The Arizona Outlaws - How to win by losing - tlk742 - 08-11-2017 Writers note, this is a piece not designed with any animosity in mind and meant as a fluff piece and a joke. This is not a hit piece in actuality, just as a joke. The Outlaws have orchestrated something amazing, the ability to lose the Ultimus this year without taking a snap all while still being viewed as the legit winners, should they make it to the championship game. I want to start, as most good stories do, with a timeline of events that explain, debunk and portray what has conspired in the last 36 hours. At the start of week 6, the Outlaws were the only team to have one loss, with two teams having two. All the old contenders from last year seemed to be out of the league of Arizona. After all, the Otters were struggling, the Yeti didn’t seem unstoppable with Noble like last year and the Wraiths high octane offense was losing steam. Sure, the Hawks were good, but they hadn’t put up anything consistent. Then something incredible happened, the Wraiths who looked doomed on their road trip, went to San Jose to take on the up-and-coming and red hot Sabercats in San Jose. The Wraiths then won. The Sabercats looked great, and everyone knows that home field advantage is huge, so a loss to Yellowknife at San Jose meant that the Wraiths had a coveted away game win. Over the next 24 hours, two accusations went flying in the direction of Yellowknife, one claiming that a fan, who happened to be a Yellowknife player (who somehow wasn’t in San Jose) heckling the team. The other claiming that there was a TPE favoritism system happening that was helping the Wraiths. It should be no surprise that both these claims came from Outlaws players. Now, Mr. Con Piricy, you say, what does a Yellowknife win in San Jose have to do with these claims and the Outlaws’s prospects at a repeat championship? Here’s where it gets interesting. The Outlaws have played a total of one non-expansion away game. The 5-1 record is less impressive when you learn they’ve played only one strong team on the road, they could be facing a very bad rest of the season. But they’re not dumb, they know they can win all their home games despite their offensive questions, as the defense is crazy good in Arizona. They can easily skate away with home field advantage in the AFSC championship game, but the San Jose loss has dimmed their chances of having the Ultimus game at home. Should the Wraiths find themselves against the Outlaws in Yellowknife at the end of the season, they now have found themselves in the perfect win-win situation. Marc Marron once said he doesn’t prepare for his standup. Should he bomb, well he didn’t prepare. Should he succeed he’s a genius because he doesn’t prepare. The Outlaws are now attempting the same thing. Should they lose, well the Wraiths cheated the system and have been playing dirty. Should they win, well they’ve now they overcome the odds in a true David-and-Goliath fashion. This is all because of a baseless accusations perpetuated by Arizona Outlaw players. -Con Piricy, Yellowknife Enquirer Code: 534 words GRADED *The Arizona Outlaws - How to win by losing - ADwyer87 - 08-11-2017 Just wait till we go 2-0 today tho ![]() *The Arizona Outlaws - How to win by losing - theFlock - 08-11-2017 Man, Mr. Con Piracy sounds like he was actually in the Outlaws locker room. Was it just a ploy to get me to search up your stats on the season and have a good laugh at 1 TD in 6 games? If so, you succeeded! ![]() ![]() ![]() *The Arizona Outlaws - How to win by losing - tlk742 - 08-11-2017 (08-11-2017, 11:18 AM)Valtookan Wrote:So the point of this media was to say what exactly?oooooh oooh are we throwing down? Let's do it. Ok so Arizona has a great defense, but it weird because they haven't gone to Yellowknife, and it's true while of the receivers of West Garden and myself I am easily not putting the stats to the power as I did have a down few weeks, lets keep a few things in mind. Only 1 Arizona receiver has more yards than me. Chess? Evans? Both taken ahead of me in the draft, both behind me in yards, YPC and longest. Yeah TD win games, but man it's gonna suck when you play on the road and you gotta rely on Bronko. *The Arizona Outlaws - How to win by losing - Valtookan - 08-11-2017 (08-11-2017, 12:24 PM)tlk742 Wrote:oooooh oooh are we throwing down?
