It went so fast I barely felt like we had one. I’m glad I was a waiver pick up late last season, because I wasn’t completely blind sided in regards to going into a DSFL Teams Training Facility and automatically you know what the coaches expect from you, and how they expect you to go about doing your business. Any one can just show up, but it takes special players to want to be great. This team just got a BUNCH of those type of players. I wanted to make sure I left an impression on everyone, especially the offensive guys. I wanted to show my teammates that I am the leader of this football team. As the QB, and a first round pick, I feel it is my duty to be a leader. Part of being a leader is getting to know my new teammates. This draft class featured 2 QBs, 1 RB 1 TE and 2 WR’s. I cant tell you what we did DURING training camp, that’s confidential, but I can tell you afterward daily, Jack R, Bradley Welch, Kiara Tenoh, Savior Hawkins, myself, Brent Suzuki and Buffalo Hunter all get together, grabbed some food, then we would go out and run routes. 1v1 style. I know Im new here, but this draft class feels special. We have bonded as teammates, and that’s just going to make us a more cohesive unit on the grid iron. Our first glimpse into what could be comes on Tuesday when DSFL starts their pre-season games. I personally have been itching to get on that field and just show this league what not only I, but this who new look offense of Londons is really about. Get ya popcorn ready yall, we about to put on show. RE: (S29) PT 1 - Training Camp - SlurmsMckenzie - 05-24-2021 Slurms was late, super late. So late in fact that he just missed like a whole entire season or something like that, I really don't know to be honest, he was just late, ok? But when Slurms finally returned from his far off Slurm marketing trip (the cause of his sabbatical) he came ready to party. Immediately he dove into an intense training regimen consisting of partying and party-associated activities such as pinata breaking and pinning the tail on the donkey. These were complimented by a few delicious and refreshing ice cold Slurm Loco's (found at stores near you), and folks...things got loco. The team was pretty upset, but there were a few veterans who greeted him with open arms. Grateful, Slurms knew he had to work hard to provide the team with MVP level playing this year, so he dug deep and pulled out all the stops. As far as his secret plays, well, they’re secret so stop asking! Also don’t ask the secret ingredient of Slurm because that’s also a secret, just let it go already! Overall, Slurms is glad to be back and is ready to help the Austin Copperheads strike their way to an Ultimus championship. Party on football league members, party on. RE: (S29) PT 1 - Training Camp - Number 82 - 05-24-2021 ![]() RE: (S29) PT 1 - Training Camp - Memento Mori - 05-24-2021 Training camp went well for the Orange County Otters. Orange County called up three rookies (Maiteers Rico-Shea, Anton Bruckner and Dallas Dole), the young players showcased their improvement and the older players showed off the effort they'd put in to fend off Father Time. The big change (in more ways than one) was defensive tackle Goat Tank becoming what he'd once hated and tackled for a loss, a running back. Goat Tank had spent the time since the conclusion of Season 28 attempting to trim more than 50lbs, and it showed. OCO's presumptive new workhorse back carried all the strength and power he did previously, but with a new level of speed and agility. Tank was almost unrecognisable compared with the player who'd spent last season pushing guards and centers eight yards backwards in the pocket. His delight was evident as he danced through tackles from his former defensive linemates, but they got the last laugh when the team entered the canteen and the dieticians had ordered for the linemen to be prescribed huge plates of food while Goat Tank still had a few final pounds to work off. Talking of my player personally, Brandon Booker had the kind of training camp you'd expect from a league vet continuing to climb the career leaderboards in his relevant statistical categories. A few interceptions and big plays out on the field, a leading role in the positional meetings off the field. With two less experienced corners in Richard Leaking and Anton Bruckner in the room with him, Booker is expected to mentor the two younger players, particularly last season's third overall pick Bruckner. Many eager eyes will be trained on the rookie's performance in S29. At training cap i got to meet my new teammates and build some chemistry with them. The two teammates I've gotten to know the best are the CB Savior Hawkins and my QB Dustin Parmalee. They have been very nice and i cant wait to work with them. Building a relationship with these 2 in particular is very important. Savior is who will be covering me in practice, so ill be with him a lot. Dustin is my QB so if we have a good connection and chemistry, that just spells out trouble for the other team. We all have been working very hard to be prepared for this season and have also spent some personal time with each other after camp. Last weekend though i thought i needed a break after camp, so I decided to go to the Florida Keys for some relaxation and sun. With my return though, I was right back on the grind with some 1v1's and drills. This team is so fun and such a family, I'm so happy to be a part of it an so ready to get this season started. With all this said I'm confident in the London Royals abilities this season and I think we will rock the world and league. RE: (S29) PT 1 - Training Camp - .simo - 05-24-2021 How was training camp for the Berlin Fire Salamanders of the International Simulation Football League? It actually went really well. Obviously last season did not end how we wanted but there was hope still heading in to the off season and that was only added to with the free agency pick ups of Trychondrius Hood and Derred de Ville. These two additions were a huge boost to the team with one on each side of the ball shoring up both sides of the team. Hood is set to be the main man in the most lethal passing attack the International Simulation Football League has ever seen. A quarter back that is at the height of his powers and having receivers everywhere in the shape of Tychondrius Hood, C'mon Skiuuuuup, Achtfunf, Clark Boyd and Joe Petrongolo even. There is just no way on earth to stop this five headed hydra. You just don't have enough defenders. And on top of that the team also has one of the leagues best running back in Petrongolo also. All around this team should be great to watch and training camp was a blast filled with many touch downs. Hopefully a sign of things to come for the next 20 weeks. Just looking forward to game one now. RE: (S29) PT 1 - Training Camp - Opera_Phantom - 05-24-2021 Getting to training camp after you were drafted and signed for a new team it is always a great moment. It is at that time that you get to know your new teammates, and hopefully friends, and those players, who knows, might even be the ones who share the same locker room for your entire career. Things went very well in Yellowknife, as the Wraiths come back with a desire: win the Ultimus back to back. The team is already firing on all cylinders, the playbook is already memorized by pretty much everyone, so they want to get to the ground running tonight when they face the Berlin Firesalamanders, a team that has been said, has serious championship aspirations. Obviously pundits talk a lot, but we will see. If i could say something bad about training camp, it would be the weather. It freaking rained for the entirity of camp, and that feeling of being damp and wet for hours it is hard to shake off. Fortunately we have a state of the art facility, so nothing better than finish practice and go into the locker room with a warm temperature, for some sauna time and then a very hot shower. So far, so good. Let us see how it goes when the season starts. (215 words) RE: (S29) PT 1 - Training Camp - CLG Rampage - 05-24-2021 Raske had a lot of new challenges to prepare for this training camp, far more than the past two years. With Berlin giving him the call that he would need to switch to safety for next season, he had a lot of work to do to prepare himself for the switch. Namely, he'd have to lose some weight and start working on his speed again. He was never a scrambler-type quarterback, he would occasionally run if the opposing team gave him plenty of room, but he relied primarily on his arm. Of course, his primary concern was that he was on the opposite side of the ball, and had to learn entirely new schemes from a different point of view. This wasn't like changing an offensive coordinator, this was far more difficult. Thankfully, his knowledge of the QB position meant that he could read them far better than most safeties, all he needed was a quick glance and he could tell what their plan was, who would likely be open and what kind of routes they would be running. This experience would be key in training camp, where he would somewhat struggle with his mechanics. However, his knowledge made up the gap, with him making several interceptions and key tackles. RE: (S29) PT 1 - Training Camp - ValorX77 - 05-24-2021 A new season means a new beginning, it all begins at training camp. The copperheads look hungry for more after coming up short of the league championship last season, especially Videl-San, one of the most explosive players in the league as of right now. "We proved that we were able to keep up with everyone in the league, but there’s always someone ahead of you", Videl said in stride. The core is almost identical compared to the Ultimus runner up one season ago, however, Long time copperhead Eddie Jeeta has been replaced by the young and upcoming Bayley Cowabunga, who has already maxed out almost every important stat needed to be a successful wide receiver. Austin will also have for the first time in team history, a nearly full human offensive line, with Slurms returning to being active, and the call up of Gluteus Maximus, this could be the best protection that Austin has for their quarterback since Edmond Beaver-Dantes retired back in S24. The defense has been more of the same during training camp, with all eyes on linebacker and reigning defensive player of the year Dex Kennedy, who’s looking to continue his dominance, and looking to be a key part to one of the league’s best defenses.
