*S28 Yellowknife Spooky Awards - PMoney - 05-26-2021 2x Media Voucher S29 is upon us so it’s high time for the Yellowknife S28 season awards! Not everyone can win league-wide awards each year but at Yellowknife we like to make sure all the effort everyone puts in is appreciated and respected. It was a fantastic season with another Ultimus win and I could not ask for a better group of users, they all deserve awards. Sadly, some will just have to settle for another ring and some shoutouts here. ![]() ![]() Kai Sakura
Also Receiving votesZee Rechs Jay Cue Jr. @Opera_Phantom Sakura keeps the offence rolling every season and S28 was no exception as he wins offensive player of the year. His 1370 yards and 7 TDs helped the team out in plenty of rough spots as he converted 48 first downs this season. While he shares catches with the other receivers on the team, he still puts up big numbers and is well on track to make a dent in the top of the franchise records by the time he’s finished. One of those other receivers, Zee Rechs had the all-around TE season that finally secured him the TEotY award he has deserved for a while. Another 8 TDs for Rechs along with nearly 800 yards and 56 pancakes put him as the top TE in the league and the runner up for this award. Jay Cue Jr. is making a big impact on the team already by being nominated for S28 offensive player of the season without playing for (or being drafted by) Yellowknife in S28? Cue Jr. did have an excellent season for Norfolk as he racked up 817 yards at 4.9 YPC. While his 5 TDs couldn’t help Norfolk to more than 1 win, he’s looking to get started hot as he comes up to the ISFL this season. ![]() ![]() Big Slammu
Also Receiving votes Djibutee McJimmerson @UberBJ Douglas Quaid @HENDRIX 2.0 Slammu continued his upward trend as he became the big shark in the heart of the Yellowknife defence. While Quaid has been the force at LB for Yellowknife for several seasons, Slammu finished the season with 113 tackles, 3rd in the league along with 6 sacks and 16 PDs. While MLBs don’t get as much love in awards voting categories, Slammu has been an integral part of McJimmerson has often been considered CB2 behind his fellow draftee Dan Foster but this season he showed that he is a true CB1. 28 PDs, 6 INTs and 2 TDs is a stellar year for any CB, particularly one who shares the spotlight. Quaid may not have made the Pro Bowl this season as we are accustomed to, but he still had a stellar season. Despite depth chart issues in the first couple of weeks, Quaid still put up over 100 tackles, 4 TFLs, 4/5 FF/FR 13 sacks and 9 PDs, the all-around stats you expect from a LB of his calibre. ![]() ![]() Colby Jack
Also Receiving votes Zee Rechs Douglas Quaid Djibutee McJimmerson Dan Foster @Arkz Big Slammu Jay Cue Jr. Team MVP was on of the most varied votes this season as so many players put in massive performances to bring us to the Ultimus. The eventual winner was the undefeated playoff QB, Colby Jack. Everything in this league revolves around having a good QB and when he shows up, Colby is one of the best. Rechs as the only player to win his positional award was a strong contender for team MVP but was just pipped by Jack. The defensive combo of Quaid, McJimmerson, Foster and Slammu all being nominated for this award shows just how vital the defensive performances were this season and how many people showed up. Jay Cue Jr. is going to take Colbys award in the near future, but winning it before he was drafted to the team might be a little premature. ![]() ![]() Rando Cardrissian
Also Receiving votes Kai Sakura Dan Foster Big Slammu Douglas Quaid Cardrissian was a recent acquisition in Yellowknife, joining the team just before the trade deadline but the trade paid off big time as he was the playoff MVP in another Ultimus run for Yellowknife. Over the three games in playoffs he amassed 294 all-purpose yds and 3 TDs including a vital 2 TDs in the wildcard win over Sarasota. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to say we wouldn’t have made the Ultimus, let alone have won it without Cardrissian’s impact. Sakura put up over 300 receiving yards in the playoffs including an Ultimus TD. He cannot be stopped in the regular season or the Ultimus. Foster had a massive Ultimus game in S26 and another strong playoff performance including another pick against Sarasota. Slammu was the difference in a tight Championship face off against Berlin where he recorded 3 sacks and a FF. When the game was on the line in the dying minutes of the Ultimus, one man made a play to kill the game and bring it home. Quaid got a strip sack and recovery with less than 2 minutes left which in itself could have won the award, even without his excellent performance throughout playoffs. ![]() ![]() Big Slammu
Also Receiving votes Dan Foster Dijibutee McJimmerson Slammu continues his trending upwards as he wins most improved player as well as his defensive player title. His meteoric rise since S26 where he only recorded 34 tackles and 3 TFLs (playing mainly at DT) to S28 where he was third in the league in tackles and added sacks, PDs and Ints galore show just how much Slammu is now a top league wide defensive player (or how much moonlight is a cheat code in the ISFL) The artist formerly known as McJimmerson is pipped by Slammu at the post on another award. He improved his stats by 10 PDs, 4 INTs and a massively important 2 TDs to solidify himself as a top class S25 CB. ![]() ![]() Andrew Warthol
Also Receiving votesKita Chiasa @Sabremike The 2 rookies performed admirably this season but true rookie Andrew Warthol wins the award. Playing at DT is a thankless task for most players but Warthol was willing to do what it took for the team to win so while 22 tackles, 2 TFLs and 2 sacks won’t go down in the record books, Warthol helped insure that Yellowknife will. Chiasa had big shoes to fill after the retirement of Mervin Leonard but had a solid season. ![]() ![]() Colby Jack – W6
Also Receiving votes Colby Jack W 15 It’s possible we’ll have to rename this award to the Colby Jack award soon as he wins it again. Both week 6 and 15 saw Colby throw for over 400 yards and 5 TDs, with no turnovers in sight. Colby giveth and Colby taketh but this season he giveth another Ultimus win thanks to performances like this. ![]() ![]() ZootTX
Also Receiving votesDarknessRising Deadlunatic @deadlunatic UberBJ You can hardly be involved in the league in any capacity anymore without knowing Zoot. His work on the budget team as now head of the department is unparalleled and he’s always a positive person to have around. He’s always willing to help out the team and the league and we’re super happy he now gets the recognition he deserves around the league. Darkness won last seasons LR MVP and won most dedicated member in the league for all his work in HO and for the charity drive. He still finds the time to be a massive member of our LR, even though we keep threatening to trade him. Deadlunatic was our S28 offensive captain for good reason as a massively underrated presence in the league that we’re glad to call a Wraith and Uber was also here. ![]() ![]() PMoney
@myself
Also Receiving votesDarkness Rising Fly Somehow most of the users appear to have made a typo and put me as the most dedicated member. I appreciate everyone in the team that makes it such a joy and so easy to be a GM for such a great bunch of people. My player may be terrible, but at least the team is good. Darkness was the most dedicated member in the whole league which speaks for itself and he should have won this award as well. Fly is one of the greatest GMs all time and he’s still hungry for more. Thanks for everything you have done and continue to do for the team and thanks for telling Colby to have a good season. ![]() ![]() Cooter Bigsby
Also Receiving votesTimeconsumer Hank Winchester The Cooter Bigsby award this season comes soon after the sad news that legendary user timeconsumer will be stepping away from the league soon. While this was put in as a joke award considering TCs consistent filling in of out Yellowknife awards since he has left the team has been just to answer Cooter Bigsby to every question, he is a legend across the league and is one of the biggest reasons for some of the most successful teams in the league having so much success. He led Yellowknife to an unprecedented 4 Ultimus losses in a row before getting his ring in S23 and we still benefit from the work he put in today. It could be said that Orange County’s reign of dominance over the league for so long began when a certain Angus Winchester played for them. A nice coincidence for sure… As always, awards cant say everything we want so additional shoutouts go to: Quote:Mursti, you may not be on the team but damm you are always fun and great to be in the LR with. That’s it for this season, we’ve gotten off to a rough start to S29 as is Yellowknife tradition but we won’t be giving up our title defence easily this season! ![]() RE: S28 Yellowknife Spooky Awards - flyeaglesfly29 - 05-26-2021 ![]() ![]() RE: S28 Yellowknife Spooky Awards - Tayjay - 05-26-2021 ![]() ![]() RE: S28 Yellowknife Spooky Awards - Opera_Phantom - 05-26-2021 I was clearly robbed RE: S28 Yellowknife Spooky Awards - ZootTX - 05-26-2021 ![]() ![]() |
