Now that we've seen how players develop, I feel like some of the archetypes are objectively better than others. Playmaker, for example, is universally regarded as the best S archetype.

I wrote an article about this issue for TEs, who I believed had it worst off, but the "research" I conducted showed that I was just scratching the surface.

Maybe we need to wait until the DSFL to get more info?

I feel you. Now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing, I can see that i really knee-capped myself by going with the speed rush archetype for defensive end.

I don't think it's impossible to make certain builds work though. Some people like different play styles or a balanced approach towards attributes. The other thing is we can't really see the way players effect the rest of the play. Like for example a strong player might be holding back a rusher and get no credit for it because we can't see it and no stat is recorded.
