*S28 Berlin Fire Salamanders Team Awards! - Cheech65 - 05-28-2021 Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the 2nd annual Berlin Fire Salamanders Awards Presentation! (presented by Cheech and Menace/Blorgl) Tonight we look back on S28, and celebrate our accomplishments. And this year, you get a little something to take home!
That's right! This time, the awards are signature-worthy!
Without further ado, let's break out what's in store!
First up is Terry Yaki! Despite a drop in production, Terry brought the power when the team called upon him. Who cares about numbers or stats when you secure wins?
![]() Second is QB1 Nick Kaepercolin! Kaep saw a significant jump in accuracy this season, throwing for less attempts but more completions. He led the entire ISFL in completion percentage, and shows no sign of slowing down. Keep up the great work!
![]() Hank Steel is up next. A defensive stalwart, steel helps hold the line together at DT. Managing to make all but 1 of his tackles this season, he was arguably the most consistent defender on any given day. Thank you Beefquake!
![]() A bonafide backfield threat, Derek Wildstar built on his rookie season, upping his total tackles and QB hits. With a bright future ahead, Wildstar is sure to shine over the next few seasons.
![]() Now here's a player who needs no introduction! Byron Dolls lit up opposing rushers this season, stacking up the most pancakes in the ISFL, and only allowing for 2 sacks. But who's really to say when Kaep holds the ball too long?
![]() A loss still fresh in our hearts, Hingle McCringleberry, was a star player last season, and continued to put in the work for us before heading down his own path. Thank you for your service Hingle!
![]() Achtfünf, is up next. Always reliable, he led the team in receptions and receiving yards last year, and by a long shot. Perhaps most impressive is his consistency. Only 4 drops on over 125 targets? Are we sure stickum isn't involved?
![]() Jeeeeroy Lenkins did it all this season. Well, all but break the offensive line. But when you record PDs and backfield tackles like Lenkins does, all is forgiven.
![]() Cmon Skiuuup is up next! Skiuuup was a red zone monster this season, and always seemed to wind up open whenever a first down was crucial. Reliable to the end, his statline will never tell the full story.
![]() Claude Miller II is up next! Despite a drop in production compared to S27, Miller was absolutely critical to the Berlin defense. I, for one, see a bounce back in the future. But growing old is a pain in the ass. We'll just have to wait and see...
![]() In his debut season with the Fire Salamanders, Eldrick Avery proved just how useful experience can be. Filling in gaps on defense and taking opposing receivers to task was only one of his many talents. Just ask the QBs he broke off!
![]() Berlin's sole tight end, Clark Boyd had a fantastic season, breaking 1000 receiving yards while maintaining his blocking ability. Unfortunately, 2 touchdowns just won't cut it.
![]() BamBam McMullet, is up next. Known for his play-killing ability, McMullet followed up his performance last season with another bone-breaking experience that offenses around the league have come to fear.
![]() Another LB, Adam Schell, is up next. Boy do I feel blessed that I only line up against him in practice. Schell was dominant this season, joining McMullet's ranks as an utter playkiller. The highlight reel for this guy will be legendary one day.
![]() Never to be overlooked, Ananda Adyan put up some hefty numbers on the offensive line. Also improving upon his numbers from last season, I feel it's safe to say that Adyan will be good for a long time.
![]() Is there anything even left to say about this overachieving frog? Danny King Jr., as he's now known, was an absolute monster last season. He was all over the field, doing anything he could to bring the team up. I think I even saw him playing defense at one point...
![]() Susan Cash Jr. is up next. Another weapon for Berlin's offense, Cash just kept on scoring! Pulling in 7 TDs this season on 996 yards proved he was WR2 material. Hell, maybe even WR1 if he keeps this up!
![]() Up next is Matt Krause, and talk about production! There's a reason that our Defensive MVP Award is named after him! This guy does it all and then some. Watching him play, I can't help but feel bad for the other guys.
![]() Swantavius Jones is up next, and he needs no real introduction. You know the name, you know the face. And he made sure that opponents felt the hits this past season. Keep on keeping on, Swanty!
![]() Rookie sensation Marlon Brando gets his award next. Rookies very rarely have the kind of immediate impact that Brando had. When was the last time you saw a rookie lead the team in both sacks and safeties? And he can only grow from here! The ISFL isn't ready for the future of Marlon Brando.
![]() Last, but certainly not least, is Mario VonPebbles. MVP made a huge jump in production this year, forcing more fumbles, and even scooping them for a TD. I think his next season may be his best yet, and this season set one hell of a high bar!
![]() And that does it for individual awards!
Now, on to what you all came for: TEAM AWARDS The first plaque is awarded to Clark Boyd, S28's most improved player. Adding hundreds of yards to his season and whole yards to his average was enough to sway the voters. Congratulations! ![]() Next up, the Rookie of the Year plaque. You already know who it's going to, and it is more than well deserved. Congratulations to @Menace0528, Marlon Brando!!! ![]() This one was tough. Berlin's first playoff appearance came in this monumental season of firsts. But who was the breakout? Who put their all on the field? The answer was clear. In Wk9 vs the Copperheads, Mario VonPebbles put the defense on his back, and Austin on their behinds. Congratulations to Performance of the Year winner, Mario VonPebbles, @Jangorhino! ![]() Next up is the Matt Krause Defensive MVP Award. And you'd be hard pressed to find someone more deserving of this plaque than it's namesake, @SomeSay..., Matt Krause himself!!! Congratulations! ![]() That leaves one more plaque to hand out. The Offensive MVP Award. And we all know who it belongs to... Joseph Petrongolo, @Jo3fish5. Congratulations on winning Offensive MVP!!!!! ![]() Thank you for watching! Another round of applause for our award winners! And a round of applause for yourself! For Blorgl, I've been Cheech. Thank you and have a great night! *GFX will be posted for grading separately* For payout, 80% me and 20% for Menace0528 RE: S28 Berlin Fire Salamanders Team Awards! - SomeSay... - 05-28-2021 Best Team Awards in the ISFL!!!
