*Sarah's S30 Big Board - TakaMori152 - 07-05-2021

While I was making my Mock Draft, I wanted to try to do some sort of research on my own to make my own decisions on who would be picked where. Unfortunately, I don’t really have a good understanding of what each team’s needs are, so I ended up just going with the average choice for each pick. I think that most people are doing that, which makes it even more confusing, but I still wanted to do some sort of research about the draft. So, I decided to make an official Big Board.
In order to put this together, I took the official prospects list from the Mock Draft Point Task, then went to the TPE Tracker to get their position and TPE total. But I knew that that wouldn’t be enough. I’d need to see how well each player did throughout the season. I also learned from other people’s mock drafts and rankings that I should pay attention to each user’s activity.
For the player’s actual ability on the field, I was a bit unscientific and decided to simply rate them based on how their performance looked compared to others in their position. I always get weird looks when I rate on a scale of 1-10 because I don’t usually use the whole spectrum. I think of it like a percentage grade that you’d get in school, so a 6 is a D and an 8 is a B. Any player that didn’t even make an appearance still got a 5, but that 5 is a failing grade. As stated, this isn’t a very scientific grading system and based on my own opinion, but it should work as a good indicator of what tier each player is on.
As for user activity, I decided to use Total Posts as the best measurement of how involved the user is in the ISFL. This created a lot of disparity between players and allowed me to better stratify each level. It also helped separate certain players who were too close to each other in TPE and Rating.
I considered sending everything through a normal distribution to help solidify what percentile each player is in, but I thought that the Season Rating would be too vague to make that work and also it would take too much time to put together. So, in the final sequencing of players I just had to go through it unscientifically once again to make decisions based on my own bias of what level of TPE, Rating, and Posts qualify as enough to move someone up or down.
As this is a Big Board, it does not take into account the needs of the teams who hold each spot. It is based entirely on who the Best Player Available is at any given point, independent of position, and I’ve separated it by rounds so that it is easier for fellow prospects to see what tier they are in going into the draft on Thursday.

I love reading articles like these to see how well they predict the actual results of the draft. Great stuff!

I will literally bet my entire bank (or however much you'd like) that I do not go 1st round I am that confident. (Hell anything really vs anyone.)

But I do appreciate your kind words pal <3
