Apparently, I’m a heavy sleeper, Spike Crown reached out me at around 12:07am last night. I remember falling to sleep at 11:30. That was fun to wake up to. The home I knew for my entire professional career is no more. But what can you do but pick your head up and press onwards and upwards.
I don’t really have the words to describe it right now. I’m still reeling, I guess numb is it. I went for a run this morning to clear my head and I think I went too hard, but here I am.

So I want to start by calling people out, both good and bad. I’m told to always end on a high note, so starting with the bad. Bailey Cook, I’m calling you out. You have leverage by being a great wide receiver, I respect that, but using that leverage to go a different team, and a specific team, simply because your friend didn’t play for the same team is not rising to the occasion and challenging adversity. Luke Long is a good friend of mine, I look forward to playing against him as much as I would look forward to playing with him. This is Kevin Durant part 2, but without the ring because a wide receiver doesn’t do too much in terms of impacting the game, especially on the Wraiths. Moreover, if you expect to be hailed as a legend, you’re in for a world of hurt. You came in as the team finished the road trip, you got the easy road until the playoffs, and everyone knows it. You have to sacrifice to get where you are, I know I can, will, and did. Can you?

Ok, onto the good. To everyone on the Wraiths team, each and every one of you has been a pleasure to work with day in and day out. If I try to name every one of you has made the family at Yellowknife so great, it’s going to be a long 3 hours. But I want to address something; I bear no ill will towards any of you guys. I mean, it sucks, I felt like part of a family, and then I’m gone. But at the same time, the moment Cook asked to be traded I knew either the trade was going to materialize or it wasn’t. If the former happened, I was the odd one out, West is more productive, Garden makes the change a wash, so it was me. I don’t blame Mr. Crown for the trade, you don’t turn down the top WR in the league when he's banging at the door.

Thank you for the send off Orosz, Garden, Crown, and Maddox (also thanks for the wings recipe). Thank you fans of Yellowknife. I hope when I return there donning the Gold and Green you’re still as loud as boisterous as ever. Thank you Yellowknife Book Club. I still think that Picture of Dorian Grey, while a classic, is pretentious writing. Garden, thank you for taking me under your wing from the moment of the draft, you have no idea how much that meant to me. Orosz, thank you for lending me that game ball that you won week 1. I’m returning it to you in the hopes of getting my own in San Jose. Maddox, thank you for all those wings. To the other players that I didn’t name, thank you. You have all made me a better person because of it, and I cannot thank you enough. If you hold the Ultimus this year, which I hope in the event San Jose cannot win it, I am happy to see you achieve greatness.

To the fans of San Jose, you are not getting another Bailey Cook, you’re getting your first Darren Smallwood. I will bring 120% to every practice, game, drive and play. I can’t promise to replace what you lost but I can guarantee that no matter how bad the games go, no matter how grim it looks, I will be a proud member of the #SabercatPride. And when we become a dynasty, I will be just as proud to step up there.

San Jose, you are the next chapter is my career and I plan and hope to make Yellowknife the foreword.

*sniffle* that...was beautiful. Good luck in SJ. I was hoping to get 1 more game against you this season, but I guess we will have to wait til next year, unless we meet in the Ultimus.

1) Ok, so you're going to call me out? Fair. I'm excited for this!

2) This is false. That was not the primary reason for my trade request.

3) I mean, no, it's certainly isn't. But that's not what happened here.

4) Trust me, we will have plenty of chances to play against each other throughout our time in the NSFL.

5) Kevin Durant is my favorite NBA player.

5a) Kevin Durant is the best player in the NBA.

5b) I am currently wearing KD shoes.

6) Again, false. @Aenir is a top tier quarterback and now has two elite targets to throw to. I could be the #1 receiver on every team except this one, and I'm more than happy to surrender that role to Garden.

7) Uhhh...I don't care?? Who said I wanted to be hailed as a legend? All I care about is being a part of a cohesive team with an attitude geared towards winning and locker room activity.

8) Of course I can. I have. In various sim leagues before I have stayed with an often fruitless team in order to keep them on track, when I could've easily bounced around and chased cups instead. Now it's my turn to write my own sim league narrative.

Thanks for the comments, though, @tlk742 and if you have any more feel free to send them over. I'll be interested in responding.

Until then, though, see you on the field I guess. No hard feelings over here. I hope you become a better part of SJ than I would've been. That may be a tough task but I feel you are up to it.

Damn tlk, can't believe they did ya like that. You're an awesome user, and you're making a great player.

I know we go back and forth as "rivals" but I really respect you and respect this post a ton. Good luck in San Jose, and I know you'll be a great addition.

I hope you can learn to look past Cook and use him as motivation, with you and the picks you guys got there's no reason SJS can't be a solid team going forward.

Right? I'm excited to be part of a great potential dynasty.

So with the rivalry thing, do we want to keep it overall or break it down by team eras?

And you know I have nothing but the utmost respect for you Big Grin

I only want to contest one thing. You were not cast off because West was more productive. I believe YOU were the one San Jose wanted. Everyone on this site reads your power rankings, and your sig of the week competition is growing. You are a major part of this site, and San Jose knew you'd continue to improve and dominate in the red zone.

Lol, I feel like we have the lamest rivalry in the NSFL because we get along so well. But still nothing wrong with friendly competition between two S2 rooks
