*Saleem Spence Declares For Team Canada In The World Football Championship - StadiumGambler - 07-13-2021 With the announcement of the World Football Championships, speculation is hot and heavy as to how the rosters will flow, with some fierce fights over nationality rights, and hotly debated regional borders to fill the four US regional rosters. One of the first dominoes to fall in place is Saleem Spence. The physical Sarasota receiver holds three nationalities, being born in South Africa, raised in Compton for his youth years, then went to play high school, collegiate, and semi-pro football in Canada before returning to the US. With speculation wild as to where players will be playing, Spence ended speculation on his part by announcing in a tweet he would be playing for Canada, the country where most of his development as a wideout took place. The Season 29 ISFL Rookie of the Year seems to be one of only two receivers declaring for Canada's roster thus far, alongside New Orleans Second Line youngster Quinton Crash, although there are other possibilities. Orange County Otters receiver Garfield Despacito Jr. also played his collegiate football in Canada, and veteran Yellowknife Wraiths receivers Mark Walker and Kai Sakura may have been in the country long enough to claim dual citizenship. With Spence still young and in his formative years, it is possible that a space on Team World or even Team Southwest USA may be open for the big man, should Canada's receiver room get crowded. The World Football Championships are expected to take place at the conclusion of Season 30, with New York and Chicago in line as potential hosts.
