*What goes into a Low Effort Graphic - MattBake12 - 08-07-2021

Welp since I can't get my precious three TPE, might as well try to get some hard earned $$$ for the low effort graphic that was produced for point task number 2 in the great season thirty of the International Simulation Football league.

Lets start with the prompt- here is what it reads: Graphic option: Create a small graphic showing your player doing something other than football for a career.

Okay, this is too easy- my namesake is pretty obvious as to what my second option besides being a sim football start would be, and I've alluded to it on some of my previous posts. In an alternate reality Mr. Pizzaman would be a pizzaman, but I think overall its more fun to think of him as a delivery driver.

Now onto the base image- Hmmmmm decisions, decisions, I could go with a stock image of a delivery driver, maybe something from a Domino's promotional shoot or advertisement. Nah, not really my style, I like to add some easter eggs or allusions to pop culture. Ok, what are some famous delivery drivers- you have the Pizza Planet crazy driver from Toy Story. Probably m y favorite driver in all of Pizza lore, but you never see his face and it can be hard to convert Mr. Pizzaman to fit into a Pixar animated looking graphic. Next. We have the guy who delivered the Pizza to the 2014 Oscars? Remember that? I thought that was a pretty fun little thing at an awards show but meh, Pizzaman would never live in LA. Next. What show probably has the most pizza in in it? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and they have 3 live action movies, wow this should be promising! I scoured through a few images but man the 80s really had some dark lighting for these movies. Its hard because most of the better source images for Tony Siragusa (Pizzaman's render) come from training camp- at least that's where an alternate, non uniform shot will have to come from,, and those are on bright sunny days. Sadly maybe in an alternate timeline Pizzaman could deliver to the turtles in the sewers but for the sake of a decent looking graphic it wouldn't fit very well. Its time to bring out the big guns- the cous de gras of delivery pizza men. Home Alone, Little Nero's guy. I saved this for last because like Ninja turtles he delivered his pizza's at night so I though there's such a slim chance I'll be able to fit my render in. But I was saved by a business that recreated the famous "statue being knocked over" scene for their businesses Christmas decoration. Weirdly enough someone even got arrested for stealing it? Well thank the Home Alone gods for this wonderful base image of the amazing scene- it will make a perfect setting for dear Pizzaman's alternate timeline of delivering pies.

Okay, we've got the base image, what's next- our render of course!

The funny thing about Mr. Siragusa is that its kind of funny trying to find decent pictures of him as a player. He was a sideline broadcaster for several years so you get a lot of wacky pictures of him in big coats and interviewing players, lots of images to have to sort through. Also a spokesman for adult diapers, not relevant for this task but maybe somewhere down the line, we shall see. Lets narrow the options "Tony Siragusa Practice" into the google image search bar. Now we are getting somewhere. Ok lets see if we can find one where it looks like hes grabbing a pizza or at least setting up to grab one. Easy enough, we find one a few scrolls down with him rubbing his hands together. Looking good so far. File->Save as-> "Pizzman Render"

Ok now lets fire up the old gimp machine and get a decent crop. oh wait hold on- lets think for a second. Where do we want Pizzaman in the image, he could be at the door, near the front of the car, or near the back. Hmmm it looks like we've got the pizzas stacked up on the hood getting ready to transport so he should probably be getting ready to pick them up, ok lets set him up behind the car. Just to make it seem a little more realistic lets get rid of his chest down from the source image and have him a little bit hidden behind the pizza boxes, two pretty easy crops but just need to setup a new layer and mess with the opacity a bit to get the crops lined up ok. Perfect the crop looks good lets anchor it down.

Looking good so far- but now to bring it home- I don't think Pizzaman would be a Ravens Fan in his alternate life, and I think the Little Nero's brand would really appreciate it if their employees had a nice clean uniform on. Let's get rid of this Raven's garbage and have Pizzaman rep his new source of dough. Lets search "little nero's logo" and see what we can find to past on his torso. There's a few images to choose from- but i wanted to select one that looks like it would look good as a uniform and luckily a few scrolls down there was an actual t-shirt for sale so lets use that bad boy. Now back to gimp and lets crop and paste! Had to do some small editing so that Pizzamans hands went around the logo but all- in-all pretty straight forward logo swap.

And there you have it! Finished product- only took about 45 mins to complete- most of the time coming from brainstorming the scenario and making it a bit more interesting than finding a random stock photo of delivery guy and swapping heads/ bodies. Lets save it to postimages and submit for three tpe!

Ok- now its time to claim my TPE for my update!

Open up the claim thread, scroll down to "M" "MattBake12 - Low effort graphic - 0 TPE"

Really? Lets see if my ISFL GM can lobby for me!

PM to Blasoon
Hello Blas my, can you pretty please ask the PT team to reconsider their low effort grade on my submission? Thank you for your service and time, yours truly MattBake12.

Blas does his best but the PT team stands firm.

Oh well, guess I won't test my luck next time- I thought I did a pretty satisfactory job. On topic, pretty okay crops and decent staging, anyway guess I'll stick to the written PTs moving forward.

This is way more work than I've ever done for a point task

RE: What goes into a Low Effort Graphic - mithrandir - 08-07-2021

That stinks. Maybe sneaking some ISFL logos in would help in the future?

given the prompt an ISFL logo wouldn't make a lot of sense

In the future just in case people didn’t know this, for you or anyone reading this, the PPT team is always open to give feedback on the graphic before Sunday, where you’ll know if you need to fix it before the deadline actually happens.

PPT members are obviously in Pizza Hut's pocket

In a show of support and solidarity with my teammate @MattBake12, I will be protesting by choosing not to claim 3 tpe for point task number two in my update thread this week. My decision to protest has nothing to do with the fact that I forgot to do last week's PT. Please direct any questions towards OCO's Public Relations Specialist, Edgar the Otter. #FreePizzaman

Incase I ever in some future week choose the graphic option, how much more effort would I need to put in beyond what has been displayed here for a graphic to be considered worthy of 3tpe
