*The Long Boat - Day 1 - Amadan - 10-11-2021 Day 1 The day has finally come. Today, we set sail for the Americas. For thousands of years my people have been building to this very moment. After generations of selective breeding and honing the bloodline, my Viking, Celtic, and Irish ancestors have created the ultimate powerhouse. Me. -- One final workout before we leave solid ground. A good wrestle with Bessie should loosen me up. -- Turns out Bessie was in a foul mood. She headbutted me while I was attempting to pin her. She can be so temperamental. We probably won’t get much milk from her to take with us now. -- My father, Stonejaw, didn’t bother showing up to say goodbye. That really hurt. That makes 1,878 days since I last saw him. -- I now write from Dublin Harbor, saying my last goodbyes to my family and the island that raised me. They say it’s a two week journey. That should be plenty of time to figure out what a defensive end actually does. I hope I get to hit people. -- How am I supposed to sleep while we rock up and down… and side to side... and up, and… -- Ugh… I knew I shouldn't have drank all that milk.
