*ISFL Anti-Fantasy - Modern_Duke - 01-06-2022 Yes folks, we are fully in the swing of ISFL fantasy season. Some groups are done drafting, some are still in the first round presumably. I have taken part in many ISFL fantasy drafts at this point, and I've always had one thought that I wanted to explore. We always try to draft the best team possible, but what would it look like if we did the opposite? What if you tried to draft the worst players that you could? Well, I'm now happy to give you that chance. That's right, we're doing anti-fantasy. What does that mean? I don't know, I want to think I invented it. But the idea is to draft the worst players. But what does worst really mean? I don't want to do just the lowest scoring players by the usual scoring method. That would be fairly easy, you could just draft bench players and get a low score simply because they did not see playing time. What I want to do instead is highlight the players who struggle and struggle a lot. Like a cheap all you can eat buffet: the food is bad, but you get so much of it! Disclaimer: This isn't truly a "worst" player thing. That's mean. More like who has the best combination of high volume and low efficiency. How will scoring work then? Quarterbacks: Incomplete Passes + (10 * Interceptions) - (5 * Touchdowns) S32 "Top" Scorer: Kazimir Oles Jr.: 343 Points Pretty straight forward. Incomplete passes take care of the high volume aspect we're looking for, and then weighted interceptions and touchdowns also hit the efficiency aspect. Running Backs: Carries - (10 * Touchdowns) S32 "Top" Scorer: Zack DiNozzo: 346 Points I really wanted to incorporate a yards per carry element here, but after messing around with it for a while, I didn't love any of the formulas I came up with. So instead this one is similar to the QB formula, volume element reduced by the amount of touchdowns. Would have been cool to give points for fumbles, but they are not listed on the index of course. Wide Receivers: (3 * Receptions) - (Yards Per Reception * Touchdowns) S32 "Top" Scorer: Eleven Kendrick-Watts: 264 Points Tight Ends: (3 * Receptions) - (Yards Per Reception * Touchdowns) S32 "Top" Scorer: James Wilkinson: 232 Points Went with the same formula for both WR and TE. WR will probably get more of the reception volume , but also more on the "negative" side of the formula. Same as I said above, it would be cool to incorporate drops, but the index isn't that kind. Kickers: (10 * Missed Field Goals) + (50 * Missed Extra Points) S32 "Top" Scorer: Taipan Pete: 260 Points Again pretty straight forward here. Just miss kicks. Defense: Points Allowed - League Average Points Allowed S32 "Top" Scorer: San Jose SaberCats: 296 Points I didn't mess around with turnovers or sacks or anything, just keeping it simple. You'll notice I didn't do anything for offensive line. I couldn't come up with a good formula, or at least one that wasn't wildly inconsistent. What do you have to do? No signups, no groups, no real guidelines so to speak, just pick your team using this Google form: https://forms.gle/t5AwmyNTbELeYWmm8 What do you win? Is it still illegal for users to pay other users? If so, nothing. Well, maybe I'll figure out something to do for the highest scoring user. RE: ISFL Anti-Fantasy - Raven - 01-07-2022 Wait this isn't how you are suppost to play fantasy?
