*Battle for Top Kicker - PoloPro - 08-29-2017 This battle of the titans shows no sign of slowing down. Booter came away with best kicker in the league last season but can he hold on to his title again? The stats are soooo close. Both are tied again for longest field goal in the league extending the record 2 yards from 55 to 57 this year. Booter has the edge in accuracy which is interesting because this has always seemed to be his weak spot. He is leading the league with a whopping 93.3% of field goals made, to Turkletons 89.2%. Booter only missed 2 all season 1 from beyond the 50 and the other in the 40-49 range. Turkleton has the edge in volume kicking 37 field goals to Booters 30. Extra Points are the exact opposite, with Booter taking the volume and Turkleton taking the accuracy. Booter kicking 31 xps and Turkleton kicking 24xps. Turkleton kicking them at 95.8% accuracy and Booter kicking at 90.3% but one his xps were blocked so if we take that out it bumps him up to 93.3%. The numbers are so close this is going to be a tough on to call. Who do you think should win best kicker and why? ![]() GRADED *Battle for Top Kicker - iamslm22 - 08-29-2017 I honestly have no idea. I wrote my pro bowl article basically threw my hands up. *Battle for Top Kicker - Kristy95 - 08-29-2017 I picked Turkleton for my team of the year, the 3/3 from 50+ decided it for me. *Battle for Top Kicker - kckolbe - 08-29-2017 @PoloPro Honestly, I'd have to give it to Booter. There were too many times we would have come away with 0 points had it not been for him. Basically, I took ALL attempts, FG and XP, and divided into two categories. All kicks under 39 yards were considered automatic. We would expect any non-rookie kicker in the league to make them. In those, Turkleton led with 93.88%, Booter right behind with 93.62%. Bear in mind that included the blocked kick. If we remove it, then Booter has the lead here. All kicks 40-59 yards were the second category. This is where we've seen a LOT of teams punt it, so this is where you have to trust your kicker. In these, Booter was 85.71% to Turkleton's 83.33% Booter was, overall, the better kicker. Feel free to include this in the article. *Battle for Top Kicker - PoloPro - 08-29-2017 (08-29-2017, 10:07 AM)kckolbe Wrote:@PoloPro Oh damn this is a good way of looking at it and not just because it favors me I think this a really strong way of seeing how good a kicker because inside the 40 for any kicker with over idk 100 TPE should be making those. The real money is made beyond the 40. Good idea with strong reasoning! *Battle for Top Kicker - Raven - 08-29-2017 It's silly howmany short distance kicks I miss with my accuracy  *Battle for Top Kicker - PoloPro - 08-29-2017 (08-29-2017, 11:54 AM)Raven Wrote:It's silly howmany short distance kicks I miss with my accuracy  I agree feel the same with xps but you have been money from outside the 50 *Battle for Top Kicker - Raven - 08-29-2017 (08-29-2017, 06:48 PM)PoloPro Wrote:I agree feel the same with xps but you have been money from outside the 50 You have man, my outside 50 has been wanky *Battle for Top Kicker - RedCydranth - 08-30-2017 kckolbe summed it up perfectly. When I did my evaluation of this situation, that was the exact reason I ranked Booter over Turkleton. Both of you are elite and I think next season will be fun to keep comparing you both. |
