*A.C. Hackett Narrows His List to 2 - RainDelay - 09-02-2017
The prize of the S3 off-season, likely pro-bowler AC Hackett, has reportedly narrowed his list to two teams: The Arizona Outlaws and the Philadelphia Liberty. The terms of the negotiated deals have yet to be released but both are likely in-line with Hackett’s declared contractual preferences: short-term and high-value.
Notably absent from the list is his hometown Baltimore Hawks. While the city’s native son has expressed a strong interest in going back home, the Hawks offer was reportedly “not in the same ballpark” as the offers fielded by other teams. When asked, Hackett expressed disappointment but mused “It’s a business, I of all people understand that. They have a really talented linebacker group and the GM must have some sort of plan in place to capitalize on this year. It’s unfortunate that plan doesn’t include me, but it is what it is”
Hackett is expected to release a statement regarding his final decision in the near future along with a message to his teammate in Yellowknife, a group of people he has called “the classiest, hardest working group of guys I’ve ever had the privilege of suiting up with.”
