Raise updater pay - Daybe - 09-16-2017
The updaters are the workhorses of this league. Each Saturday, they spend hours going through each player update page, checking all the links, updating their player pages, and updating the spreadsheets. It's a tedious process. Updaters have to update about 15-20 players every week, and it's no easy process. That's why I suggest an upgrade to the updating pay.
Comparison to other ways to make $:
You can crank out a 600 word article in 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your typing speed. That nets you a solid 1 million. Not bad, right? You can make a few graphics that may take longer, but get better results. Make four graphics and you get 2.6 million. Not bad, right?
But wait!
For updating an entire season's worth (around 7 weeks) earns you $4,000,000. Updating an entire team can take anywhere from 2-3 hours. So for a task that takes around 2-3 hours, you earn a little more than 500k. Keep in mind, writing a short 1 hour article nets you 1 million. So you're basically earning 1/2 of the potential profit of writing some articles. That's a pretty bad deal, if you ask me. We are the workhorses of the league. We shouldn't be earning the same amount of money as four 600 word articles.
Suggested actions:
I believe that a full-time NSFL updater should earn $6,000,000 a season instead of the current $4,000,000. This not only encourages new users to help out, but it also helps keep other updaters content. I don't think the DSFL updaters should receive an increase in pay because they do significantly less work on a weekly basis.
I hope the HO can see my suggested changes and take some action
Note: I am not doing this out of greed, I am a DSFL updater, but I believe guys like @Bzerkap and @Roshambo who work their tails off on a weekly basis to keep you guys updated every week deserve more than 4,000,000 a season.

I'll share the pay scale from the SHL, as I originally was hired as an updater here by Galatix, but when basically nothing happened and she was immediately replaced, I didn't bother following up because really the pay wasn't worth the work. By comparison I'm an updater in SHL and have been since January, spanning 4 seasons.
Code:
Regular updaters: $5mil + $500k/team for backup updates, to be claimed in backups thread
Backups: $500k/team for backup updates, to be claimed in backups thread
Bonus schedule:
-Regular updaters who complete each week of their assigned updates during the regular season AND post-season will receive a $3mil bonus.
-Backup updaters who make 10 total backup updates during a season will receive a $2mil bonus. (Updating two teams in one week counts as two updates for this, just as it does for claiming the $500k/team.)
-All updates completed in the off-season may be claimed as backup pay at $500k/team. Teams may be updated more than once if there are multiple weeks in the off-season.Raise updater pay - Bzerkap - 09-16-2017
This is a common issue raised amongst updaters and now that I am in a position to do something about it I definitely will look at it.
However, I want to say that I am also looking at ways to keep the updates correct and timely. So with a hopeful increase in pay, there will also be an increase in scrutiny and hopefully accuracy.
I really want to avoid another Erasmo Broadway situation.

Shl also takes less time to update than here. There were times I've cranked out all SHL teams in a day by myself and here I doubt I would get through half the teams.

We have more opportunities for points as well as I believe more variability in points scored so we have to check that too
