*More Yeti Interviews - TheMemeMaestro - 09-17-2017

Post-Draft the Yeti are looking strong as they picked up some solid talent including keeping the talents of Antonio Sandoval. They really bolstered the worst part of the team in their Offensive Line, and I will now speak to some members of the Yeti about the draft and the team going forward.

JA: How does it feel to join a team on the cusp of the playoffs, that missed due to mainly a poor OL?

RR: It feels great to be drafted by the Yeti I was predicted to go in the 8th round and got drafted #20 so I'm excited, as for missing the playoffs do to a poor Oline that's the past, S3 is a new year and The Yeti have a new and improved O-line ready to go to war.

JA: What are your expectations coming into the league, likely starting on the Yeti?

RR: If I start that will be great I 'll get to step and work with number 1 pick Antonio Sandoval on the line who will help me learn the Yeti OL.

JA: Speaking of Sandoval, how are you feeling about working with him and Free Agent acquisition Shjom Finkenlarkin on the Offensive Line?

RR: I'm couldn't be happier joining Sandoval and Finkenlarkin, Sandoval can help set me straight since he knows the OL and Fink is veteran who will bring leadership to OL.

JA: Alright, thank you for your time.

RR: You're welcome thanks for having me

Next up, I was able to speak with the previous Co-GM and previous Interim GM of the Yeti Mike Norton.

JA: Why did you trade up to get the 1st pick and select Antonio Sandoval?

MN: I know this move has been questioned by a lot of people but I feel that we made the right move. Sandoval was the top player on our board for a long time. It’s not every day that you find a prospect who is already an established member of your locker room and is the best prospect at your position of highest need, which also happens to be the most needed position in the league. We weren’t the only team who saw great potential in Sandoval. The Outlaws were actually the ones who reached out to us about trading up. They informed us that Sandoval was one of their top two choices for the top pick in the draft, which fit with some suspicions I was beginning to have. There was a chance Sandoval would reach our pick if the Outlaws passed on him, but I couldn’t risk losing a player who was such a great fit. It’s possible we would have still gotten him without the trade, but it’s also possible we would have missed out on him and our offensive line would be in an even worse position than before. At the end of the day, we got our guy and that’s what counts.

JA: What was your focus in the draft?

MN: My main goal was to upgrade the offensive line. It’s no secret that the offensive line was our greatest weakness last season. I believe that this team is ready to compete for a championship if we can put a strong offensive line together. Three of our first four picks in this draft were offensive linemen. I took a win now approach to this draft because I think we only needed a few more pieces to put this team over the edge. At the same time, I also went for some other players who will not be instant starters but will provide great depth for the team and will develop into starters in the future.

JA: What do you feel Shjon Finkenlarken can bring to this team?

MN: As I said before, my main goal this offseason was to upgrade the offensive line. Getting to land a top free agent at the position was an excellent boost. Shjon is going to be able to come in here and start on our offensive line right away. Our offense has a lot of potential with its skill players but was unable to form much rhythm last season with the struggles of the offensive line leading to many drive killing sacks. I think our revamped offensive line could allow us to be one of the top offenses in the league next year.

JA: How do you see this team faring in the extremely competitive NSFC?

MN: I’m naturally biased but I see us as the best team in the NSFC. Last season, we missed the playoffs despite being in a three way record tie and having the best point differential by a wide margin. We can argue about the validity of tiebreakers as much as we want, but the truth is that we statistically outperformed the rest of the conference. I think this team will have similar success this year with a very stout defense and an offense that should perform better with an upgraded offensive line. I think we are the most well-rounded and experienced team in the NSFC. Not only do I think this team can win the NSFC, but I believe we have a serious shot to win the Ultimus this season. If we win the NSFC, we will likely have a rematch with the Outlaws and I think it will be a much closer match this time now that we are more experienced. I’m very excited to see what this team can do this year.

JA: With your recent decision to step down as Co-GM of the Yeti, how do you want your legacy to be remembered?

MN: I didn’t make a ton of moves since this team already had a championship caliber roster when I took over it. However, I’d like to think that my moves helped bring this team closer to a championship. I was able to test out some new team strategies and make some moves to fill some team holes. Whether these moves will actually help lead the team to a championship remains to be seen, but I like to think that if the team does win a championship soon that I will have played some role in helping that happen.

Next up I was able to speak with the #1 pick in the NSFL Draft, Antonio Sandoval.

JA: How does it feel to be taken with the number one pick in this year's draft?

AS: It is an amazing feeling, man. Hearing your name called and walking up on to that stage as the first pick, it's the highlight of my career. Everything I have done, all the hard work has led to this moment. The only moments I am looking forward to more is winning that championship, and winning some personal awards while I'm at it.

JA: How do you feel you can improve this year to show everyone that you were worth trading up in the draft and being taken first overall?

AS: You know it was truel...

AAA: What kind of shit is this? I thought the league was running a fair draft, but I hear the Outlaws picked Antonio Sandoval first overall so they could pay him under the table! His immigration status was not disclosed to the public until well after the draft and after the team appointed him as puppet general manager as a tax shelter. This qualifies as illegal trade practices and there will be a complaint filed with the Federal Trade Commission. I will have you know that my client Francois Lamoreux - who immigrated here legally from France - still pays all his taxes and has not fled his responsibilities like Gerard Depardieu. Maybe if Francois would work for peanuts he would have had a fair shake.

JA: Well hold on M. Archon, What do you have to say about Sandoval's Birth Certificate?

AAA: I have examined Antonio Sandoval's long form birth certificate which appears to be legitimate. I think we can put to rest any concerns about Antonio's legal status. However, Ricardo is the elder brother and it is very likely that he was born in Mexico, hence why he has insisted on only playing in sanctuary cities like Baltimore.
I find it disturbing that Baltimore would hire cheap illegal labor while relegating talent who are in this country legally, like my client Francois Lamoreux who received his visa to attend UCLA and became a naturalized US citizen, to be drafted in the second round. I'm sure if Francois was willing to be paid under the table and take a lower salary due to not needing to pay federal taxes he could have jumped a few spots in the draft.

JA: What should the league do to punish Sandoval?

AAA: I don't think Ricardo Sandoval should be permitted to play any away game in a city where his legal status will be questioned. Without a doubt he cannot come to Yellowknife since he must be a legal resident to apply for a passport. In Arizona I know Sheriff Joe Arpaio is no longer in office but I don't think they look kindly on illegal labor taking jobs away from hard working Americans. I know he'll be safe in San Jose since they're a sanctuary city as well. I wouldn't be able to speak on any other NSFL team location. I would encourage a league investigation into the hiring practices of the Hawks and levy sanctions for unfair hiring practices, including loss of future draft picks.

JA: OK, now can I get back to the interview I was doing, with the real star?

AAA: I hope you enjoy your blood money, but you can expect that this issue will be brought up again with the Commissioner. There is plenty of cheap talent in developmental territories who would accept below-market wages among teams which are willing to break the law to hire them.

On that note, I decided to hide out for a while, as the French mafia could be after me at any moment. This has been yet another successful edition of Colorado Yeti with Jeffrey Andrews.
