*(S3) Team of the Week - Week 2 - Kristy95 - 09-21-2017

Season 3 is here and I am back with your favorite article of the week: The team of the week! Slight change: On offense, I will now use 1 RB, 2 WR and one flex (RB/WR) because some weeks there aren't two good RBs but many good WRs.

Team of the week 2:

QB: E. Hunt
RB: B. Tweed
WR: B. Westfield, S. Weston
RB/WR: A. LeClair
TE: C. Law
OL: V. Sharpei, J. Yates, A. Winchester, M. Akselsen, M. Boyd

DL: J. Tuck, B. Bjornsson, O. Taylor
LB: L. Tiernan, L. Luechly, J. Lee, L. Washington
CB: P. Carter, R. Reyes
S: V. Marmeladov, D. Verns

K: B. Walsh
P: B. Kicksit
KR: N. Stormblessed
PR: D. Lavelle

Offensive player of the week: S.Weston

Defensive player of the week: D. Verns

Special teams player of the week: D. Lavelle

Player of the week: S. Weston

A bit to each person individually:

QB E. Hunt - 31/42 for 307 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, 100.0 rating

RB B. Tweed - 28 attempts for 124 yards, 0 touchdowns and 2 catches for 23 yards

WR B. Westfield - 6 catches for 111 yards, 2 touchdowns

WR S. Weston - 6 catches for 93 yards, 2 touchdowns

WR A. LeClair - 7 catches for 165 yards, 1 touchdown

TE C. Law - 5 catches for 64 yards, 0 touchdowns and 5 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

OL V. Sharpei - 10 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

OL J. Yates - 9 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

OL A. Winchester - 9 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

OL M. Akselsen - 7 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

OL M. Boyd - 6 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

DL J. Tuck - 5 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks

DL O. Taylor - 5 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks

DL B. Bjornsson - 9 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 2 sacks

LB L. Tiernan - 15 tackles, 2 tackles for loss

LB L. Luechly - 5 tackles, 1 sack, 1 pass deflection, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumbles recovered

LB L. Washington - 8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack

LB J. Lee - 8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, 2 pass deflections and 1 fumble recovered

CB P. Carter - 4 tackles, 2 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble

CB R. Reyes - 5 tackles, 3 pass deflections, 1 interception

S V. Marmeladov - 1 tackle, 1 pass deflection, 1 interception, 1 touchdown

S D. Verns - 7 tackles, 3 pass deflections, 2 interceptions

K B. Walsh - 3/3 field goals, 1/1 extra points - field goals from 31, 43 and 45 yards

P B. Kicksit - 4 punts for 52.5 yards, 61 yard longest, 2 punts inside the 20 yard line

KR N. Stormblessed - 3 returns for 86 yards, 31 yard longest

PR D. Lavelle - 5 returns for 130 yards, 77 yard longest

And now a look at teams:

Arizona Outlaws - 5
San Jose Sabercats - 4
Yellowknife Wraiths - 4
Orange County Otters - 3
Philadelphia Liberty - 3
Las Vegas Legion - 3
Baltimore Hawks - 2
Colorado Yeti - 2

We already saw a few new entries that had never been in the team of the week in season 2, partially because they are rookies and partially because they just somehow never got there.

New entries this week are S. Weston, C. Law, M. Boyd, O. Taylor, B. Walsh and D. Lavelle (he had been in there as a CB, not as a returner). Also interesting to note that B. Westfield had been in this team zero times last season but already twice in two weeks this year. Other players who have been in both teams of the week so far are: B. Westfield, A. Winchester, J. Tuck, L. Tiernan, L. Washington and P. Carter.

Congratulations everyone.

Edit: A previous version had B. Westfield as player of the week, but S. Weston's last second game winning touchdown changed my mind.

GRADED

Love it I look forward to this every week, gotta say I think I did better punting but good article man!

At first I was confused about this RB/WR denomination... but I'll take it?

Nice write up. I would argue that Mike Boss' stat line is slightly better than Ethan Hunt and while Bradley Westfield had a great game, the 30 yard catch and run by Shane Weston to score the winning TD as time expired should make him Player of the Week.

All good points, I did not see the sim, but that is a good argument. I did see the boxscore and the TD with time expiring. I may adjust this.

So, because our offense is elite and our defense didn't suck, Westfield doesn't get player of the week. Cool.

I'm just being a bit facetious, that game was lit. Weston's game winning catch was huge. I just think it's a little silly to reward a guy because his team couldn't dominate and needed a last second TD to win, he gets the nod as best player over a guy who had a better statline.

If this was "Most Exciting player of the Week" yes, Weston deserves it. But this is "Player of the Week" and that is Westfield.

I can also argue that Christiano Ronaldo was the better Kicker.

5/6 FG, 29,29,31,40,44
1/1 Extra Points.

If you remove his points, the Outlaws lose. Walsh didn't help his team win. If Weston gets Player of the week because his score helps his team win, then Ronoldo gets this because he helped his team win.
