*Week 3 & 4 Power Rankings - tlk742 - 09-23-2017 We’re going hot into the regular season. Power rankings indicate that if two teams face off with all things neutral, the higher team should win, does that happen For the record, the index has the Otters as #1. 1. ![]() Let’s be clear, they won against the Yeti and the Legion, so any data from here can be ignored as a sign of the offense not losing a step. The defense held stout and the offense played well, but what you’d expect from a top team when playing the worst the ASFC and NSFC has to offer. 2. ![]() Ok Hawks fans, before you say “our road woes are no more” like the team above you, playing the Yeti and the Legion does not count. Rove early on this season means the Hawks could be looking at a long rest of the season that may end with disappointment, but that’s the negative. The positive is there, they still have a strong run game, and a strong pass game and Willie has been stepping up becoming the #5 WR in passing yards. There’s a lot to like for this team, but the schedule gets harder, not easier. 3. ![]() The Wraiths have road struggles, have always had road struggles, and will continue to have road struggles. No one would be right in saying that the pass rush for Yellowknife is bad, quite the contrary, they have the second most sacks of any team in the NSFL. But when the plan is rush the QB so he cannot pass, there has to be a contingency, and the Wraiths lack it. Dermot Lavelle is a great corner, but Kane and Novel leave a lot to be desired. To put into better perspective, no QB has gone under 65 QBR when up against the Wraiths, and this includes the SaberCats and Legion that they faced. 4. ![]() The otters took the road games as well as one could, with a blowout in Yellowknife and a heartbreaker in San Jose. There’s a lot to like about this team, but they’re now in a contentious struggle with the Sabercats for the second place spot. They need to address their road struggles, which is hard to discern as no position is really bad on paper. 5. ![]() Say nothing else for San Jose, they tend to play them close and they tend to keep fans on the edge of their seats. If you want an example as to why picking Blewitt in the first round was a terrible idea, look at the game with the Liberty. If you want an example to why picking Blewitt in the first round was a great idea, look at the game with the Otters. Here’s the real challenge in San Jose, Durden is not good. The Sabercats are the only team in the league to have a sub 3.0 YPC on their rushing game as a whole. The homestay continues as the Sabercats play host to the hapless Yeti. By the way, the new logo in the center of the field for the team looks amazing. 6. ![]() On the plus side, they haven’t lost all their games? But they haven’t won any either. Rove is definitely looking better, but the team as a whole needs to do better, but the game at San Jose was a sign of the potential to this team. Rove played lights out, with two touchdowns. The three interceptions are a cause for concern however. 7. ![]() Well the Legion are still shaping up, and Leclair is becoming the most underrated wide receiver this league may ever see. Is he on anyone’s fantasy team? A near win against Yellowknife should be a sign for hope for this team, but when the next step begins is hard to say. 8. ![]() It’s really hard to gauge when a team is good when the QB is averaging a rating of 20.5. Think about that. Berc is in the 50s, it makes you wonder if the Yeti were smart trading for Pierno as opposed to DSFL star QB Christian Adams. Isn't that now allowed? I get that you don't need money, but a user needs to have helped write the article. I seriously doubt that all these different people are helping you with the articles each week. |
