Updaters updating own team - Bayley - 09-23-2017

Should updaters be allowed to update their own team? Personally, I think no because this could cause a problem. I am not saying that it will be a problem, but we could avoid all issues by not allowing it to happen.

Thoughts?

Fully agree, but this is just gonna go right back to the lack of reliable updaters and how updater pay still blows.

I mean, I see updaters making enough mistakes as it is, let's just get reliable guys first and go from there.

I personally have no problem calling out my own teammates and would never intentionally mess up an update for anyone, but I support people not being able to update themselves because it will be easy for them to gloss over a mistake they made and not catch it when updating.

I didn't mean to call you out at all, I was just thinking that it could be a larger issue that could be simply avoided. We could be looking at a Noble type situation unless it wasn't allowed.

No, but if the updater is out or soemthing and no one else is able to I think it should be ok for them to do it once.

I think an updater doing his own team might even be more precautious simply because the amount of problems that would come down on them if they were to make a mistake.

IIRC, they aren't doing this anyways, but it's worth noting that all updaters have access to all spreadsheets anyways, regardless of team. Now they're making it accountable, but still.
