*DSFL Week 6 Power Rankings - bovovovo - 09-27-2017 Through 6 weeks, it's become increasingly clear that the DSFL has much more parity between teams than the NSFL does. There are only two teams with winning records, the rest are either 3-3 or 2-4. Now that teams are gradually adding newly created players off of waivers, we should hopefully start seeing some teams pull ahead of the rest. Until then, these power rankings have been extremely fluid and kind of all over the place. Just when it looked like the SeaWolves were the team to beat, they suffer two ugly back to back losses, and just when the Marhsals looked to have a dominant team their offense falls apart despite them adding new pieces. This apparent parity is something that many other competitive leagues lack, and is somewhat reminiscent of the first season of the NSFL, where the Outlaws were written off due to a very slow start but has since emerged to win two back to back championships. In the DSFL, teams won't be able to hold on to the majority of their players for as long as NSFL teams are able to, so there should be much more parity throughout the DSFL in years to come. On to the power rankings. 1. ![]() As one of the only teams in the league with a winning record, and with their overall solid team, I had to put the Luchadores at number one. Their two wins in weeks 5 and 6 were both at home, and they continue to struggle on the offensive side of the ball. They may be number one right now, but we'll have to see if they are able to stay there. 2. ![]() In week 5 the Coyotes defeated the SeaWolves at home, but lost a very narrow game away to the Luchadores in week 6. I put the Coyotes at 2 because they just landed the player that should be the best wide receiver in the DSFL: Brian Wheat, a send down from the Baltimore Hawks. Wheat was unable to join the Coyotes in time for the week 5 and 6 games, but with his addition the electric Coyotes passing offense just got even more dangerous. They've got back to back road games in weeks 7 and 8, so we'll see how good they really are. 3. ![]() I've been hating on them so far in these rankings, but it's becoming harder to defend that view point. Despite getting shut out on the road by the Luchadores, they were able to muster a dramatic come from behind victory of the Marshals in week 6. They still have a negative point differential, they keep finding ways to win, and at the end of the day that's all that matters. 4. ![]() The Marshals suddenly have an offense. With the send down of Draxel and the addition of William Sean, their offense should be much more capable than it was earlier in the season. But they don't have a winning record yet, and it's apparent they still need to find out how to get their offense to work. They just scored their first passing touchdown of the year in week 6, after all. Their future success will depend entirely on if they are able to fit all of their pieces together cohesively. 5. ![]() I really, really didn't want to put the SeaWolves this low, and I don't think they necessarily deserve it. But they just experienced two very ugly losses, one a 6-19 loss against the Coyotes who held the SeaWolves dominant offense to just field goals, and one a 14-36 loss at home to the Portland Pythons. The SeaWolves seem similar to the Marshals in my ind: They've made some great moves recently, but now they just have to find a way to get all of their pieces working together. 6. ![]() The Pythons lost 7-19 at home to the Marshals before defeating the SeaWolves on the road. They have a good amount of active players, but they haven't made many additions off the waivers and it remains to be seen if they can reliably win games. Fitting, since their GM was asking yesterday how to make changes to a depth chart. *DSFL Week 6 Power Rankings - bovovovo - 09-27-2017 (09-27-2017, 03:57 PM)124715 Wrote:lol, they haven't entered any logo / color info (I guess white on black is the default color) so they have some weird helmet as their logo.
