All right. The Head Office has decided to nullify the bet between RFFO and myself. Ask whatever you want. I'm sure you have questions. I know I would.

The league said you can do whatever you want. Are you going to go through with the bet?
"Whatever I want" is a bit of an exaggeration, because what I want is fairness.

I wouldn't feel right just up and leaving Yellowknife, because the bet was won under suspicious circumstances. I don't think you can take the Legion under the cap, re-sim those games, and still get 2 wins even remotely consistently. So if I went to LVL, it wouldn't be "going through with it," because I haven't fairly lost. Ideally, RFFO and I would agree to consider ONE of those wins valid, and continue the bet, with the Legion needing one more win. I think that is the best compromise, but his retirement makes that no longer an option.

So now I am stuck with a "stay" or "go" question, and both options suck. If I go, then I unnecessarily abandon a team that supported me non-fucking-stop through all the pre-draft drama, even when they were sure another team would be taking me. I have enjoyed playing on the Wraiths, and it was only with the chance of them getting a player that I was willing to leave. It would be wrong to just leave after three seasons.

On the other hand, the Legion worked their asses off, and talked to me constantly about the bet. While RFFO teased me and was clearly looking forward to rubbing a victory in my face (which I don't fault him for; I am all for pettiness), that wasn't the response I got from the rest of the team. @Ben, @Keyg_an, and @Zoone16 all reached out to let me know they were excited about the prospect of having me. With that kind of class and excitement, how can I let them end with nothing?

There has to be some kind of compromise. Hopefully @Bzerkap and @Ben can work out something. I'm thinking either the Wraiths give the Legion a free draft pick in S5 (which looks like a good draft class), or the Legion send the Wraiths a draft pick in exchange for me. I don't know what kind of picks would be "fair" but it's the best I can come up with off the cuff. And there is plenty of time to iron something out.

Will you still join LV? And No maybe only yes or no.
Addressed above, I kinda managed to avoid a yes, no, or maybe. Go me.

What is your reaction to LVs punishment?
I think it is unfair. I like the IDEA of excess+50% as a baseline punishment, but bear in mind this involved DSFL. Name one aspect of DSFL that hasn't been a complete clusterfuck. On that alone, the Legion's penalty should have been lowered. Add to that the half-ass way team caps are tracked, and the fact that multiple teams have made this same mistake and seen actual success from it, and it becomes even more unfair. I really hope this gets reconsidered. There's time for that to happen, and I recommend it be used.

What is your thoughts on the wraiths choking away their season?
Fucking painful, man. So many winnable games. Winning over the Otters took quite a bit of luck. With that same amount of luck, we could have won like three more games over lesser teams.

Are you aware there were a lot of us out there hoping you'd go to the Legion to give the Outlaws more hassle?
I was VERY aware that just about everyone on the Hawks, Liberty, and Outlaws wanted me to go to the Legion so the Wraiths would be less scary. The Legion wanted me there for obvious reasons. Hell, only the Wraiths...and maybe the Cats wanted me to win.

Sounds like you're taking the cowards way out.
I want to disagree, but if anyone here is an authority on that, it would be you.

Some people (especially those on a certain specific team) seem pretty salty about all this. What are your thoughts? Do you think the bet should have been allowed or do you think the HO was right to nullify it? Do you see an issue with them taking so long to rule on the legality of the bet, to the point that it basically played itself out before they officially ruled on it?

I think the bet should have been allowed, given that it was made over a MONTH ago without a single HO member speaking against it in the process. Hell, I think someone else tried to make a similar bet that didn't go through because it wasn't accepted, not because HO stepped in. What bothers me most was that win or lose, this bet was a big deal that affected almost the entire league. Knock their record all you want, but the Wraiths are a good fucking team. Knock me all you want, but I am a good asset for a team to have on and off field. The whole league knew about this bet, and talked about this bet, and actively followed its development, because it was the MOST SIGNIFICANT BET made in this league. I've given this league a fair amount of drama, but this was genuine excitement.

I do think the cap issue is a valid reason to nullify it, but I disagree with the way it was nullified. For example, imagine the HO had given this ruling:

"After investigating the cap violations of the Las Vegas Legion, and applying various roster changes to put them under the cap, we re-simmed the two wins and found that the Legion would have most likely lost one of the two games had they been under the cap. Therefore, we are removing one win from the Legion.

This ruling affects a current bet between kckolbe and RavensFanFromOntario, which had, prior to this ruling, been considered settled. The loss of this win results in the bet still being in effect. However, with Tyler Varga now being unable to sign with the Wraiths, the bet cannot be honored by both parties and is therefore void."

I think that would have settled things a lot more cleanly, as well as established a precedent that teams that circumvent the cap WILL have their records adjusted. After all, imagine a playoff team had been over the cap.

What would you say to the ex Legion GM who stepped down and retired his player rather than stay with the Legion, and anybody else, who thinks you’d be a coward to not go to the Legion once your contract is up?
I'd say it showed poor character to post that before reading my response, especially given that I made it clear I was ready to go to the Legion, and when the cap issue came up, I didn't try to make a case in any direction. I guess the biggest response would be if he hadn't been so damn incompetent, there wouldn't be an issue. His incompetence as a talent evaluator is what led to the bet being made, and his inability to handle simple fucking math is what led to it being nullified.

Which NSFL player do you find the sexiest?
Julian Edelman. It's an easy answer, but he knows it.

Doesn't seem that bright, but...damn.

Additionally, please check out a related statement issued here. Feel free to comment and/or ask questions regarding that.

Simply put, you made the bet... you should honor it. That's how a bet works.

@kckolbe let me know when this is ready to be graded.
