S4 Off Season Start and Announcements - Admin - 10-20-2017
It is officially the start of S4! Teams may begin talking with free agents now and players who retire now will play out the entirety of S4 before losing their player.
We have made some changes to a couple of archetypes
Defensive Tackle weight changes:
Nose tackle weight:
330-380 up from 325 -375.
Run Stuffer
320-355 down from 325-360
Interior rusher
280-320 up from 280-315
Balanced
310-340 up from 300-330

Defensive end archetype weight changes:
Speed rusher
235-270 down from 235-280
Run Stopper
270-300 down from 270-320
Power Rusher
260-290 down from 280-310
Balanced archetype
Unchanged

Tight end changes:
Blocking Tight End
Speed: 80 up from 70
Vertical Threat
Speed: 90 up from 80
Balanced Tight End
Speed: 85 up from 75
Possession Tight End
Speed: 85 up from 75
We decided to adjust the defensive line weights because we feel that this was the best way to handle players playing defensive ends as defensive tackles (better than defensive tackles). We also used this opportunity to adjust them to light handedly buff and nerf archetypes that needed it.
A quick glance.
Defensive tackle:
Nose tackle, interior rusher and balanced received small buffs, run stuffer received a tiny nerf.
Defensive end:
Defensive end's weight lowered across the board (except for balanced).
This is mainly due to power rusher and run stopper being more effective stat wise than all defensive tackle builds. We think these changes will still allow players who want to flex and play interior and exterior lineman that flexibility, however it should prevent run stopper defensive ends from being better interior rushers than the interior rusher defensive tackle archetype.
Next up is tight ends.
Tight ends were just too slow.
Speed across all tight ends have now been raised to match up with the speed of linebackers. This seems to be a pretty sizeable buff. We will be keeping a close eye on this and how it effects the game. We are hopeful that this will make tight ends a bigger part of offensive game plans instead of an ancillary piece that is being ignored.
We also looked in to some problems with offensive lineman and we are working very hard to figure out a solution. We will have something for you guys but don't want to force something that we don't feel is right just because the rest of this announcement is coming out today.

Wow, was only expecting a +5 to speed, but I am glad to see this. Definitely a good move to make a #1 TE more relevant than a #3 WR.
Also, nice to see the D line changes, should result in real DTs getting more tackles.
