Ben, this is Clint Mitchell from the Davenport Morningstar. Just a few questions.

1. Where do you see yourself among the rest of this year's offensive line class?
2. Which NSFL team's aesthetic do you find the most appealing?
3. Are there any offensive linemen in this draft class you're hoping to team up with?
4. Similarly, are there any defensive linemen you'd be excited to face off against?

Thank you for your time.

Good Morning. Engelbert Finklestein, Sciencetown Spectator. I have some inquiries for you.

1. This class has a relatively low number of offensive lineman, making you something of a commodity. Have any teams shown significant interest in you yet?

2. What's your most natural position on the line?

3. What can a defensive lineman do to throw you off your game the most?

4. Were a freak injury to occur to you that preventing you from ever playing again, what's your plan?

Ben Longshaw - Media Day - timeconsumer - 05-25-2017

1) What position on the line have you taken the most snaps at?
2) What's worse, a DE beating you around the edge, or risking a holding penalty to stop him?
3) What defensive lineman/linebacker in this draft class keeps you awake at night?
4) Given the amount of offensive lineman positions and how few have declared for the draft so far, how many would you estimate go in the 1st round?
5) Do you think football is more like chess or poker?

Hi Clint, thanks very much for the questions.

1 - I consider myself the top overall offensive line prospect. The draft class is admittedly thin for o-linemen, but that's not why I believe I'm #1. What sets me apart is my work ethic: you'll see me around everywhere and I'll always be working to build my TPE and develop as a player. There may be some guys who are better in one area or another than me right now, but that won't last, and as a pure pass-blocker I'm confident that there isn't a better guy in this class than me. I'm also going to be a great spokesperson for the team that drafts me, and the NSFL as a whole.

2 - The GM's of this league have done an outstanding job with their designs, and I can honestly say there isn't a single team whose colors I wouldn't love to see myself in. No matter how dirty it gets in the trenches, this football league is gonna look pretty!

3 - There's some other great pass-blocking guys in this class, guys like Dan Robicheaux, who if I teamed up with I know we'd have a QB who never got his jersey dirty. I could also see myself shoulder-to-shoulder with a big athletic guy like Angus Winchester, or with Bender Rodriguez inside me helping to pound the rock. I'm teamed up with John Floggity, a great OL technician prospect out of Hawaii, for the All-American Bowl, so I'm looking forward to seeing how we play together.

4 - Honestly, I think every single defender brings something unique to the game regardless of how talented they are overall. There's such a diverse range of guys in this class that I'm excited to see what sort of individual strengths and quirks they have in their game that I have to adjust to. There's no individual guy that I want to single out, but I'm certainly looking forward to the challenge.

Hi Engelbert, great to meet you. I love the name!

1 - As I'm sure is the case with all of the prospects leading up to the draft, I've had some casual conversations with people. No one has come out and told me, "Hey Ben, I'm gonna draft you day 1", but I'm confident that there's a lot of interest out there.

2 - Left Tackle, all day. The QB is my guy, man. He's my brother. I've got to be in the position to keep him standing and give him time to make plays like an MVP. If my guy is out there throwing TD's and his jersey his clean then I'm a happy man, so you gotta put me out there where I can look after him.

3 - Guys on D like to try and play mind games and be in-your-face kinda guys. Honestly, that doesn't work on me. The closest thing you'll get to a guy who rattles me is a guy who's quiet; when a guy is out there with his hand in the dirt, his eyes staring hungrily at my QB and he's not making a peep - that's the guy I know I gotta get to work on.

4 - I'd be a teacher. I love learning, and I love sharing that passion with others. My coaches would always get me to go deep into the playbooks with our guys because I'd be reading the thing back to front whenever I had free time. I'm a big reader - if I'm not manhandling a defender then I've got a book in my hands. And I'm a big science guy, too. If I had the smarts I would have pursued a career in physics, but as a teacher I know I'd be able to scratch the surface of a lot of topics that I'm interested in and get the kids excited about it too.

Hey Ben. Chris Jones from the Baltimore Moon.

Wanted to start off by saying you are a massive individual, are you sure you're not a Guard and Tackle in one body?

1.) On a serious note, what was the difficulty in college. Not one sack? Were you holding every play, out muscling smaller blitzers, or do you believe teams didn't want to try it and game-planned away from you?
2.) Are you more comfortable playing Left Tackle or Right Tackle?
3.) If your Quarterback was Left/Right handed, would you be opposed to play Right/Left Tackle to protect the blindside?
4.) Who are you most excited to match up against in the bowl game?

Thanks for your time Big man! Good luck in the draft!

1 - Left Tackle. That's where I make a living. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my guys make plays in the passing game, so I need to be out there stopping anybody from coming in and mucking that up.

2 - I don't know that I've ever had to resort to just grabbing a guy to stop him getting past me, but I'm doing whatever it takes to keep my QB upright. If you've been out in the trenches you'll know that those guys on D will bend the rules as far as they'll go, so there's no point trying to be an angel. But I would never do anything that could hurt another player - we're all in this together at the end of the day.

3 - I mentioned in another response that I'm excited for this whole draft class. I want a shot at everybody, even the guys that are outside the top few rounds because I know they can surprise you! The only thing that keeps me awake at night are the books I'm reading. And one day soon that'll be a playbook again.

4 - Yeah there's not only just a few guys declaring for the offensive line, but you've also got a hell of a lot of QB's who've put their hands up. It wouldn't surprise me if all the OL talent goes early, and GM's are happy to take a punt on a QB in the later rounds. There's just so damn many of them!

5 - Chess. If you get bluffed out in football then you never had the ability in the first place.

Hey Chris, great to meet you! Haha, you gotta be big in this league! Every inch and pound helps.

1 - I'm confident enough in my own ability to admit that the talent I was facing might not have been tier 1 throughout my entire college career. That said, I think you touched on the main reason for my no sack record - I dominated early and coaches started game-planning away from me. Instead we faced a lot of pressure up the middle and weren't able to run the ball much, which meant teams knew we were throwing almost every down. So that was a challenge, but I'm a pass-blocker first and foremost so that's what I live for and it's how I've earned my reputation.

2 & 3 - I prefer Left Tackle, but I'm comfortable with making the switch if it's necessary. Like I said to another interviewer, I live for keeping the guy behind me upright, and I'll do whatever I have to to make the game as easy as possible for him.

4 - I wasn't able to get to this before the big game I'm sorry, but honestly it was just great to see the talent on display out there. It took me a couple of quarters until I knocked a couple of guys over, so there's obviously a lot of talent on the other side of the ball. But we came away with the win and I think that speaks a lot to the talent we had in that team, and on the O-line.

1. You say the QB is your best friend, do you have a relationship with any of them yet?

2. You choose Joe Staley as your render, who has been the model of steady, and loyalty. Will you model your player on those as well?

3. What are your personal goals for your rookie season?

4. Typically in leagues like these/and in the NFL O linemen are overlooked for their contributions. How would you like to see O Linemen rewarded in a unique way?

5. Where do you think linemen go in the draft? (which round)
