*jaylon lee free agency - youngcricket - 10-22-2017 Jaylon Lee Free Agency To be honest, I came into free agency having no idea what I was doing. I've never been a free agent in any league I've ever been in, so this was a brand new experience for me. So far, I am still super confused on what I'm supposed to do. There are no rules and no outline on what to do in free agency, to look for money or to look for fit. To compromise one thing to gain a slight advantage in another. Going back to the Outlaws has always been an option, but I've never known if it's what I want. I'm a huge proponent of parity in a league and, to be frank, the Outlaws have something that strays far from the line of parity. It is a tank and it refuses to quit rolling. They have one of the most influential members of the league on their team and have a ton of talent to go around him. I had always considered the Outlaws as a possible fallback, but the RFA tag drives down my interest to return even more. Not even the fact that I was RFA tagged, but the fact that nobody approached me about it and there was absolutely no way for me to see it coming. Hell, I didn't even know RFA tag was a thing in this league. So simply put, I don't think that Arizona is where I will end up, especially after they launched all of their money onto Garden. Coming from a team like Arizona, it is hard to imagine that I can find as perfect as a scenario. I was, for the most part, surrounded by amazing teammates and always had a look into the future as we drafted well and were always planning our next steps. It was a winning culture with a lot of people determined to reach the same goal, another Ultimus. It wasn't a choice, it was an expectation and if we would have failed, we would have all been mad. Starting as an underdog in this league was cool, and it feels like I am an underdog once again. I have worked pretty hard since the start of the league, but I do feel that I am still not valued as highly as I should be as a linebacker. I have been an anchor on the best defense in the league for three straight seasons and have never stopped working my ass off to be the best. So where do you go from the top? Is it possible to be in the best position possible and leave? I feel like I should have considered staying in Arizona more, but I also think that this league needs some parity and the best players in the league taking minimum deals to roll to a championship isn't very fun. Dynasties of this proportion aren't fun, in my opinion, they are league killing. If I wasn't on the Outlaws, I would have been pissed at the type of talent we were getting every turn. I do think that as time goes on more people will leave, but for me, I need to figure out where I am going. Now, I still have no idea where I am going to end up. Only two teams have even contacted me, and I don't expect many more to contact me. I think that one team could be a very good fit and the other is a mediocre fit. While both remain options, I still have no idea what free agency even is. I got a pitch from one of the teams and a "we will give you more money" from the other team. As one of the better linebackers in the game, there really isn't too much for me to prove, so going to a non-contender could be a dumb move for my future. What's the point of losing the rest of my career? One thing that I've considered is that I will be able to maintain very solid stats if I went to a terrible team. I would rack up a ton of tackles and could be the best defensive player they have, but I really don't know if that's what I want. I've never been one to like being the center of a team and being the star. I have always liked to be a Robin and take any of the credited that is left over when Batman does his job. At this point, I have three options, re-sign (if that is still an option), sign with a new team and hope others stop enjoying the Outlaws dynasty, or I could simply sit around and wait. I don't know what I would wait for, but the idea of improving and just waiting around has been tempting me the past few days. I could wait to see how the pre-season goes and wait for a team to realize that they need a top flight linebacker to join their corps. Realistically, money may end up winning out. Going to college has taken a lot of time away from me and it is hard to write articles like there while I have to study for tests and try to plan out my entire future. There are so many options, yet so few options. Obviously, some people thought I would be more sough after than I have been, but I know why I haven't and I have no regrets as to why I'm not being pursued. I think that any team that contacts me knows they're contacting a premier linebacker and one of the best in the game with a high ceiling. There's a lot to think about when it comes to free agency, but one thing I've learned is that there is a lot I don't know about it. I don't know what to do and I don't know what to look for. I am intrigued to see where I will end up and how my free agency will turn out. 1005 words *jaylon lee free agency - TheWoZy - 10-22-2017 ![]() ![]() *jaylon lee free agency - jparks98 - 10-22-2017 I think its safe to say we would dominate together  *jaylon lee free agency - JuOSu - 10-23-2017 Got a lot of respect for you for wanting to leave a dynasty. Parity is a very important thing in this league. Well done. *jaylon lee free agency - Keyg_an - 10-23-2017 Parity is crucial I heard there's a team in the mid-west that is trying to improve. ![]() *jaylon lee free agency - timeconsumer - 10-23-2017 (10-23-2017, 04:29 AM)Keyg_an Wrote:Parity is crucial I heard there's a team in the mid-west that is trying to improve. This is cultural appropriation or some shit... *jaylon lee free agency - tlk742 - 10-23-2017 (10-23-2017, 07:39 AM)timeconsumer Wrote:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwestern_United_StatesI'm not gonna argue that, because you're right, as I said above, I don't consider Vegas Midwest at all, but there are some people who view it as coasts, mids, and that's it. |
