Jason Spearhead Post All-American Bowl Interview - BasedPooter - 05-26-2017
Alabama's Jason Spearhead quietly puts up a solid albeit short All-American Bowl performance
While only recording 3 tackles, the promising young defensive end quickly made his presence known. Spearhead flew out of the gates and recorded a sack and forced fumble in the 1st Quarter of the All-American Bowl. From there playing time was rotated heavily with many other promising prospects and Spearhead's numbers never spiked again for the rest of the game. Still, he immediately popped up on the radar of many scouts in attendance.
"We've already got high interest in him. He's a freak athlete", said a scout from one of the 6 teams at the game.
It isn't clear where Spearhead will end up in the draft due to consistency, but he showed loud and clear that he has tremendous upside as a chaos maker at the next level.

You were clearly having a big impact in the first quarter with the early sack and safety. Another impressive stat is that Team 2 only scored 3 points on offense while you were evident in the game during quarters 1 and 3, with the touchdown in the third quarter coming from a punt return TD.
With 14 points being scored against Team 1 between the quarters you played in, what do you have to say to the coaches that took you out of the game?

We had a great group of talented guys so it wouldn't have been fair if they didn't all get a chance to get in there and eat too. I felt like I was having a great game but you can never know what you have if you don't use it. The next man up could easily be more dominant than the last. Coaches did a great job.

I'm naturally a confident guy but to be able to show flashes of what I can do against some really talented guys just makes me feel great about what I can do. I'm really excited about the draft and can't wait to call a place home.

I think I can yeah. I know what I'm capable of, and my speed off the edge really lends to how the game is played today. I know I have some work to do to become a complete player, but I have all the confidence in the world in myself and my future coaches to make that happen.
