fantasy pick time - Pat17 - 10-30-2017
Can we extend the pick time for fantasy picks? It makes it very hard to do my picks when I am in a different timezone and I get skipped because I have to sleep and work. I know I used to be in a league that did 24 hours per pick I could even probably be better with 18 hours or something but 12 is no good. I already miss lots of things because of my timezone.

Playing devils advocate here, we already have many people who do not pick on time, and we want this done before the season starts. It is really frustrating when 5/6 people are doing picks right away and then there is one person who uses up their timer.
Regardless of who is up, I check right before I go to bed and right when I wake up. I remember the time that person is due and figure out, "if everyone picks right now, what is the latest i can pick without skipping?" And i make sure to check before that period.
Maybe set it up by timezones so that people in x timezones are against each other.

That's a pretty good idea, but it would mess up the randomization of the groups, which theoretically makes it more fair

Maybe we can do like in real fantasy where you create a list of players in order that you like, send it to the person running your group, and have it "auto-pick" in a sense.

I was going to suggest setting a draft board as well but send it to a trusted friend not in your group to prevent the sniping allegations.

IDK man, 12 hours is a lot of time no matter what timezone you're in. I go to sleep early and wake up early living in EST and have had plenty of times where someone tags me immediately after I fall alseep (maybe 11pm or midnight my time). But that still gives me until damn near lunchtime the next day to figure it out. Unless you live somewhere that has very limited access to internet I don't see how checking your phone in the morning when you wake up is very difficult. Unless you sleep for 12 hours a night.

@`Pat17` since other people have suggested a board and I'm running your league I can 100% make the picks for you if you wish and send me a board. Not a problem at all.

I was also going to add before my class starts up is that if you pick two times a day, 12 hours apart to check up on the website, you will not miss a pick. so for me, 8am and 8pm are my two times, right after I take a shower and right before I go to practice. Obviously, I come and check back more often than that, but if you want to guarantee you make your picks, you might have to do that.

Best solution is probably an optional draft board if you're concerned you might miss a pick or two because of timings.
