With Chess' contract extension, @kckolbe brought up a good point. The contract is listed as the vet minimum for a sub-400TPE player. However, with this upcoming update, Chess would be past 400TPE and the contract, were he to sign in s5 as opposed to last week, would be 2m. I'm sure there are plenty of other examples, but basiclally this is what I purpose:

If the contract for the year is below the minumum based on TPE for that year, that contract is then raised to the new floor.

So for example, if we make it so Chess signed in s4 rather than s5 for the same amounts as listed it would be as following

s4 -1m
s5 -1m
s6 -1m
s7 -1m

However, if he broke 400TPE in s5 this would become

s4 -1m
s5 -2m
s6 -2m
s7 -2m
because he passed the floor that was set for sub 400TPE


However, as a lot of teams have already made and finalized their budgets for this season I ask that thsi be implemented starting s5

Things like this come up multiple times a season. Nearly everyone agrees minimum contracts need to change. Yet we never get an HO response. Minimum contracts should clearly scale with TPE increase. There's no reason it shouldn't.

Yes, because it's going to be the same answer each time. Contract minimums will not change before we have people at the top tier. All that would result in is us changing them back when people get there. We are not going to change a rule just to change it back later.

I can get behind budgets being updated each season to reflect players TPE tiers. If a player rolls into the next tier their contract bumps up

No that's what I meant. I mean scaling it to increase with TPE. So if Chess already passed 400 TPE his salary should increase to 2M. That's what I was suggesting.
