I love you all very much Mat Akselsen celebrated Thanksgiving with friends and family back in Fertile, Minnesota. As is tradition he goes out hunting with his father, uncle, and grandfather the week before to find a nice Elk. This year they brought back a big one for the family and grandpa went to cutting it up and preparing it. Mom and Akselsen's sisters start the day preparing the vegetables and all of the sides. The children are all running around the house playing with toys while the adults are swapping stories with drinks in hand. The table is set with Elk, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and of course the gravy. Akselsen took two healthy helpings of everything on the table and gobbled up every last bite. Desert came out and all the best were served around the table, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and apple pie. One slice of each for Akselsen of course. This is how Akselsen celebrates thanksgiving. (S5) - Weekend PT #5 = Turkey Day - jaskins811 - 11-25-2017 Thanksgiving is tight end Joseph Askins' favorite holiday by far. Being the incredibly huge man he is, he needs a lot of food to fill himself, and on thanksgiving, that turns into a massive amount of food. Askins was fortunate enough to return to his Arizona home with his family this thanksgiving and spend a lot of time with them. Askins truly has a lot to be thankful for this thanksgiving, since he is now one of the best players in the entire NSFL. Joseph Askins' favorite food on turkey day is mashed potatoes. He loves the gravy his mom puts on them, and he can literally stack an entire plate of potatoes on one plate. He also is a huge fan of turkey, and his mom has been forced the past few years to make two turkeys since Askins can eat so much food now. All in all, Askins had a great thanksgiving this year. (S5) - Weekend PT #5 = Turkey Day - Lendoris - 11-25-2017 As an amateur chef, Calkewlated Chambers the third likes to spend his thanksgiving through charitable donations. This year he donated his time and recipes to a local homeless shelter. He awoke at 5 am. Spent some time in his indoor pool exercising. Once we was awake he grabbed his coffee, fresh ingredients, and a freshly prepped turkey and headed for the shelter. He spent time with the regulars and drank his coffee while listening to their life stories. Cal was interested in anything they had to share. After the morning coolness had dissipated he headed towards the kitchen. He spent the next 6 hours delegating other volunteers around the kitchen. The foods he prepped had some local flare to them, but otherwise was very representative of a typical Thanksgiving feast. Once the aroma of the kitchen became too unbearable to stand, the temporary residents of the shelter began to pour into the dining hall. "Alright, let's fry this thing" The turkey was placed int he boiling peanut oil. Perfection was ready thereafter. The kitchen staff placed food throughout the dining hall, and Cal took a seat to enjoy more stories along side his delicious food. "Oh" Cal said, "We almost forgot the games" He turned on the TV, the lions were trailing by 10. Word count 214 (S5) - Weekend PT #5 = Turkey Day - HENDRIX - 11-25-2017 Kurt Hendrix celebrated doing the only things he knows how to do, and that's eating and playing football. There was a nice break in the NSFL schedule allowing players to travel back home and spend a few days with their families. Kurt used that time to head back to his home out in LA. In the afternoon he headed down to one of the local parks and jumped in a game. The competitive juices got flowing and several people ended up in the hospital due to vicious hits. Kurt only know how to play one way, and that way is balls to the wall. Wreaking havoc on the local football scene left Kurt with a massive appetite. At the dinner table he had one whole turkey to eat for himself, sides included a pound of stuffing, a pound of potatoes, and a half pound of corn. For desert he sucked down an entire pumpkin pie. (S5) - Weekend PT #5 = Turkey Day - timeconsumer - 11-25-2017 Although he has dropped a significant amount of weight since his last season in the NSFL Angus Winchester still eats like a horse. Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday, and he held nothing back wen it came to filling his plate, his mug, and his belly with the best of the season. As a barbecue enthusiast himself Angus prefers to smoke his turkeys. But he also appreciates a good fried turkey. And of course you can't go wrong with the old-fashioned roasted birds. So at the Winchester Thanksgiving they cooked all three kinds. As the chief birdmaster of the house Winchester handled the cooking of the three, 20lb birds while his wife Emily prepared his favorite sides like mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gallons of gravy. But the celebration doesn't end just when Thursday is over. Angus Winchester eats on the leftovers for several days. His favorite? The Post-Thanksgiving Day Sandwich. Winchester starts with 2 thick slices of sourdough bread, and piles on turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, cranberry, and green beans, and he bakes this in the oven until it is warm and toasty. Then he gets a small bowl of gravy and dips the sandwich into the gravy as he eats. He has consumed at least 5 since Thursday night. (S5) - Weekend PT #5 = Turkey Day - White Cornerback - 11-25-2017 Lavelle returned home for thanksgiving, if you didn't know the Irish don't celebrate thanksgiving, well you do now. His flight was boring as usual and he spent most of it asleep. After finally arriving back in County Sligo, Lavelle organised his way back to meet his family. While most people were digging in to turkey at this time, thousands of miles away in the US, Lavelle was still travelling home to meet his parents. After arriving at the family home where he spent the majority of his life, he called up some friends in the local area to go out for drinks. A few hours later, Lavelle was seeing quadruple, his shirt was puke stained and he was halfway through a chicken tikka kebab. Lavelle was so intoxicated he missed his flight back home to the US the next morning and as a result missed team scrimmage preparing for the week 10 make or break matchup. (S5) - Weekend PT #5 = Turkey Day - CDub2 - 11-25-2017 Thanksgiving was this past Thursday. Something relatively new for Cameron Taylor. Canadian Thanksgiving is in October. But now, having spent 4 Thanksgivings in Michigan and one in Portland, Taylor is more used to the idea. That being said, the trip back to Canada every October is a must for a real thanksgiving feast chez the Taylors. The real difference this year was Taylor has a new family now, trading in Michigan entourage for his new partners in crime, the Portland Python Squad. Being in Portland, shopping for Thanksgiving wasn't as easy as it is in Canada or the rest of America. The local shops only provided artisinal stuffing, organic grain fed humanely slaughtered turkeys, vegan pickles, and hand picked potatoes. It was a little extra, but this is home now. Thursday involved putting in a big old bird, turning on ESPN, and kicking back and relaxing until the day long fast ended at dinner time. Enough Turkey was eaten and enough beer was drunk to subdue a moose so it was a very successful day. Having the week off of games meant that Taylor had a little free time to heal his body and his mind before the playoff push starts Tuesday. 204 Words (S5) - Weekend PT #5 = Turkey Day - mmfootball - 11-25-2017 ![]() (S5) - Weekend PT #5 = Turkey Day - Bayley - 11-25-2017 Thanksgiving is one of Benson Bayley's favorite holidays. He sits back, watches some television with the Thanksgiving Parade and Santa Claus at the end. He always knows that it is leading up to the best time of the year, Christmas. He sat down with his family and decided to have a nice meal of turkey and stuffing. The football games were on, so he could sit back and finally enjoy it. The Cats had the day off from practice, so they could enjoy the holiday with their family, nice of them. Then, all of the fun started after eating. Benson Bayley and a couple friends decided they were going to go Black Friday shopping. They decided to buy some gifts for charities and kids that were at the store. There is nothing that Benson Bayley likes more than to see the smiling faces of kids getting their favorite toys. That, right there, is a successful holiday. Quote:Words: 156 |
