As I was thinking about ways to improve, one thing that bugged me (sorry OCD part of me) is the duplicated numbers or out of position numbers. Nothing like #99 catching a TD pass as a TE or 2 #21's running down the field. What are your thoughts about looking at duplicated numbers and limiting those. As we try to do PBP @Sweetwater still can't even get the names on his own team right, nevermind if there is 2 #21s running down the field. Does this bother anyone else?

Does anyone care enough? Thoughts.

My lord and savior wears #99, but really I'd like to get duplicated numbers removed or we could always assign it how the NFL does it by position?

I am open to both. I just hate having duplicate players on the same side of the ball. I dont mind going through and finding a list of players with duplicate numbers on the same side of the ball.

I love the idea and think that it'll help players out when they watch games and it'll help the PBP guys who could actually identify players more clearly.

With the sim file, it would be a 5 minute job to find the duplicates.

I would like to not have duplicates, would help with future number retiring too, but i dont think we should restrict who can have what number

I would LOVE to have everyone own their own number and be correct for their position according to NFL/NCAA (Im looking at you, Robert Phelps), however, it is asking a lot from users because they may really like a certain number and a certain position that just dont match.

But I do love the fighting for a number and could lead to friendly trades.
Quote:In the summer of 2004, during Feagles' second season with the New York Giants, he offered newly drafted quarterback Eli Manning his #10, which was the same number that Manning wore in college. In exchange, Feagles and his family received an all-expenses paid vacation to Florida paid for by Manning.[5] He switched to 17 until wide receiver Plaxico Burress wanted the number, Feagles sold the number to him in exchange of a new kitchen in the house.

It's just stupid that there's duplicates. It was so confusing watching two #81s run around in the preseason for Portland. Thankfully, Wachter switched his number, so it's all good now. The little dot with the number on it is all we have to go on for the sims, so it'd be nice to not have duplicates.

With that said, we don't have to have "NFL Set numbers for positions" because that just takes the fun out of stuff.

No duplicates, but no restrictions.

I was just going to grab the update sheet. @Keyg_an anyway you could help with this?
