PDXBaller Management

Hello Everyone!

My name is Phillip Dell and I currently represent Eli Kamaka as a part of the PDXBaller Sports Management group. I’m here to announce that starting defensive tackle Eli Kamaka has informed Philadelphia Liberty management today that he will be opting out of his S5 contract by exercising his mutual option to decline his $2,000,000 for the S5 season.

Kamaka is currently committed to giving his full effort and focus as the season draws to a close and the playoffs looming. He will not be able to attend this press conference. However, as his agent I will be taking questions for this press conference.

I'll take any questions at this time...

Why opt out? Why now just as the playoffs start? Will the timing affect team morale?

Any chance of going back to Philly at a higher salary during free agency? Or is this a goodbye?

If pressers only pay 50%, and agents take 15% of that, how is this worth Kamaka's time? (not serious)

Did Philadelphia's late season success affect Kamaka's decision at all?

How would Eli like to live in the state with the highest quality of life in the country? With the healthiest citizens? At the forefront of social policy? With some of the most beautiful views in the world?

Would he be more excited to go to a team where he's likely to fade into the shadows behind players with bigger egos and bigger salaries? Or would he like to come to a team on the upswing that can build around him and help make him the superstar he's meant to be?

Does he get that I'm talking about Colorado yet?

What are the biggest factors that Kamaka is looking for in a new team?

Also what were the biggest factors for Kamaka opting out of his contract?

As far as I’m aware, Kamaka would be the only free agent DT this offseason. How big of a splash is he hoping to make?

I have to ask, what is it like for some teams to not have two good/great DTs?

Eli Kamaka has been considering opting out of his contract for quite some time now and is looking to explore other options in the league considering the scarcity of decent defensive tackles. The timing should not affect team morale as he has been transparent about his intentions early on in the season and Kamaka is focused on bringing a championship to Philadelphia.

Anything is on the table at this point and negotiations between Kamaka and Liberty Management are ongoing discussions at this time.

At PDXBaller Sports Management, we have our players' best interest at heart and do not take commission from press releases Big Grin

Philadelphia’s late season success did not affect Kamaka’s decision at all. He has considered opting out of his contract since the beginning of the S4 season.

Kamaka is considering all teams as potential options at this point as his second season in the league draws to a close. He is simply looking for an environment where he can directly contribute to a teams’ success and is in full pursuit of a championship as he enters his prime playing years. He would be open to playing in Colorado and admires what management has done in the recent season to turn things around. Kamaka also has lots of respect for many of the players on the team ( Pierno, Boggs, Saint, and Wozy to name a few).

Kamaka is looking for a team that will provide a productive environment where he can contribute to the creation of a championship caliber team and play with like minded individuals who are motivated to succeed. Money has also be a big factor in his decision-making.

Kamaka has thought about opting out of his contract for quite some time now and is looking to explore other options where he can be an important impact player as he had been on the Liberty.

He’s not concerned about the publicity surrounding his free agency, but is fully aware that the market will be receptive to his announcement and is looking forward to exploring all options at this time.
