Deadline: Sunday Night, January 7th - 11:59 PM PST (S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - Beaver - 01-05-2018 Blackford Oakes' New Years resolution is to get revenge on the dastardly, diabolical Connor Tanner. As everyone knows by now, Tanner was instrumental in blackmailing, coercing, and otherwise forcing most of the Las Vegas Legion into retiring last offseason [citation needed]. Since Oakes resisted, Tanner has tried to sabotage Oakes at every turn. He would like to end this feud this year so that it's not hanging over his head going into 2019 and 2020. In order to achieve this, Blackford Oakes has retained a team of strategists and general douchebags that have been advising him on how grind Tanner into submission. So far they've: 1. Sabotaged his computer, causing it to blue screen any time he tries to do anything 2. Partied with the roster of the Hamilton Steelhawks ahead of their Game 7 against the Minnesota Chiefs, tiring them out and inducing hangovers that resulted in them losing the game and the playoff series 3. Kidnapped his dog Bleu and renamed it Gooney There can be only one and this year will decide it. Code: 176 words (S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - bovovovo - 01-05-2018 Borkus Maximus III's New Year Resolution is simple: He wants to to be a second round pick in the S6 NSFL draft. Not a first round pick, not a third or later pick, but a second round pick. Many have curiously asked him why he wants to be picked in the second round rather than the first, but he has never given an answer. Indeed, Borkus has always been an interesting character, and seems to get quite heated at the idea of being drafted in the first round. It was reported that when Borkus found out he was drafted first overall in the DSFL, he threw his couch out the window in anger. "NEVER AGAIN!!" he yelled into the night. It remains to be seen if Borkus plans to purposefully hurt his own draft stock, though he would have to be careful so as to not become so unattractive that he falls later than the second round. Many analysts already predict him to be a second round pick. (168 words) (S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - Drizzy - 01-05-2018 Cordell Joshua's first New Year Resolution is to actually get some stats in his games. He fucked up in his first two DSFL matches and did absolutely nothing, literally failing to even be included on the scoresheet through his inability to do something on the field. But just because he has failed early on doesn't mean that will how things stay, and I have it on good authority that he is working hard to try and have more of an impact next time around. Cordell's second resolution was to be selected in the first round of the next NSFL draft. He has worked hard so far this season to maximize his potential and improve as much as he can, and if he can continue on the trajectory he's begun on, this might not be an unreasonable goal. Obviously a lot of other factors come into play but who knows, this might be a resolution that he doesn't break immediately. Code: 159 words. (S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - Yurt6 - 01-05-2018 This time of year is one for reflection and the desire for self-improvement. That is why Clifford Rove has given some thought as to what he wants to improve on for 2018. Rove has decided that he needs to give some more time helping out around the Philly area. Because of his lackluster performance in his rookie and sophomore efforts, the young quarterback isn't exactly loved in his new home. He has long struggled with the polarizing effect he has on citizens. So he decided it was finally time to do something about it. If people weren't going to like him for his football ability, he hoped they would like him for his charitable efforts. While up to this point he has been mainly behind the scenes, donating money to numerous causes, Rove wanted to do some hands on work to really feel like he was making a difference. While not all people in Philly may like him, he certainly wants them to feel he is a part of their community, and that is his new year's resolution. 178 Words (S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - 7hawk77 - 01-05-2018 Dan Miller's new year resolution is to be more of a team player. He has always been a big part of what makes San Jose great, however the past season he had a lot of outside things going on. This had him showing up to practice, knocking that out and heading back home. Or just showing up to games, playing his best and hitting the showers immediately after. Not to get personal, but the things that we're detracting from his ability to be a part of the team seems to have gone away. He decided to start this off with a bang by throwing a big New Years day party in the afternoon with lots of good hangover food, and medical staff on hand to hook the players up with banana bags to shake off any effects of the partying the night before. He hopes this will aid in getting the team closer as friends and as coworkers. 158 words (S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - SwagSloth - 01-05-2018 Eric Kennedy made a change at the start of last season, losing over 30 pounds to transition into the receiving back archetype. That itself is more than worthy of a new year’s resolution and many wouldn’t fault Kennedy for simply aiming to keep the weight off, which he’s managed to do over the last season. However, that weight was shed with a purpose and that purpose was to make him a more efficient player. His speed and agility have drastically improved, allowing him to move away from the slower strong-arm style of the Power Back and match the mobility that has made so many other NSFL RBs successful. It led him to finally become competitive with fellow Wraiths RB Bubba Nuck and transition from a back-up into part of a running back committee, allowing both men to better integrate into the team’s passing game and keep defenses guessing. As one of the most well-rounded offensive players in the league, Kennedy’s new resolution is to continue to shatter his old numbers and became an even more versatile offensive player that can benefit his team at nearly any offensive position. Many were shocked to see Kennedy put up 149 yards last week, the most by any player that week. He’s now vowed to prove that his breakout game was no fluke. Expect this Running Back to continue to rival WR1 level numbers while still bouncing around the field to any position that’s needed. It’s a bold claim, of course, but Kennedy is no stranger to bold claims. 255 Words (S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - Leafer - 01-05-2018 New Years Resolution is where it is at. Bet everyone has a goal for this year and especially athletes like american football players. So what is Austin Roenick's resolution? Easy, lots of things. Such things such as be a better player and better quarterback and more valuable quarterback than Arbin Asipi Jr. Now why him and not others? He has trash talked Austin a while an dhas to prove to him that he is not a joke and does not suck and in fact is better than that scum bust. Now that is good as that is the good future rivalry in the NSFL Future and good games between the two. But also that will increase the draft ranking for Austin Roenick as he was in fact drafted 16th overall so he has to prove to everyone who he really is. Also, he wants to also win the Ultimini Bowl or Championship which is what champions get. Those are one of them for the first season. (S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - Goretron - 01-05-2018 Borro Gore's New Years Resolution is to become a complete player. Relying on his physicality and strength in college did him well, but at this level he'll need to be able to do much more than bowl people over. He's vowed to focus on getting his speed and agility up to a point where he's considered a threat in the open field. Likewise, he's already made steps to improve himself as a blocker, buying expensive training equipment to practice in his free time. The final piece of being a complete back will be being a threat out of the backfield. Borro caught just a meager 25 passes over two seasons in college, so working with the JUGS machine every day after practice will be one step he takes to being a better receiver. Similar to blocking, Borro has already invested in a new set of gloves which provide additional (within the rules) grip. Code: 153 words (S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - PDXBaller - 01-05-2018 Eli Kamaka loves making new year’s resolutions!!! In fact, last year his resolution was to make more resolutions! So this year he’s got a new list of things that he’s hoping to accomplish for the new year: 1) Hitting the gym more to get stronger! Kamaka loves getting strong and it definitely helps out the Liberty’s defensive line if he can become one of the strongest players in the NSFL. This year he’s hoping to become the strongest defensive tackle in the league. 2) Eating more cheesesteaks! Kamaka has spent 2 full seasons in Philadelphia now and has eaten just about everywhere in town, but he’s always on the hunt for the newest place and it’s cheesesteaks. He’s making a resolution to eat more cheesesteaks this season and visit new places around town. 3) Spending more time with friends and family. Kamaka had a great time spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with Micah Hendrix and this season he’s hoping to do more activities with team mates to increase camaraderie. Quote:165 words |
