*NSFL Team Budget Visualizations - bovovovo - 01-06-2018 I made some Sankey Diagrams to visualize each NSFL team's budgets, so we can see how much each team is spending in different areas and how budgets are being used. Disclaimers and Method: There's some complexities with categorizing some stuff, and different teams categorize things differently in their budgets (especially when one team is covering the cap of a player on a different team). Instead of trying to figure all that out I just went by what was on the team's budget sheet. So if anything looks like a discrepancy it's just because teams budget things differently. Or maybe I made a mistake. That's possible too. I used SankeyMatic to make these. The Outlaws are right behind them, spending $51.75m. The league average for offensive spending is about $42.5m ~On the flip side, the Legion are only spending $30m on their entire offense. This is less than what the Outlaws are spending on their OL ($35m, highest in the league in OL spending) ~OLs are expensive. Only one team is spending less than $19m on their O-line (the Legion are only spending $13m) ~No teams are spending more on Defense than they are on Offense (probably because of O-line) ~The Wraiths and Yeti are spending the most on their Defenses, each spending $32m. The Liberty aren't too far behind, spending $31m on theirs. ~The Otters are spending by far the most on their RBs, spending $18m. The league average (excluding the Otters because they are such an outlier) is $3.7m. ~The Legion are spending by far the least on their defense, spending only $12.5m. This is less than what many teams are spending on just individual position groups. ~The Legion have more of their budget going towards "Other" expenses than they do their Defense or Offense (spending $12m on funding position changes, $9m being traded to other teams as cap considerations, and $11m is being spent on players no longer on the team) Hope you found this interesting! I may do this for DSFL too if people seem to like it enough. GRADED *NSFL Team Budget Visualizations - jaskins811 - 01-08-2018 Cool graphs! It would be cool to see for the DSFL (mostly since I am a DSFL GM haha). *NSFL Team Budget Visualizations - Beaver - 01-08-2018 This is awesome, nice work. Definitely interesting to see the wide disparity in OL spending. *NSFL Team Budget Visualizations - 124715 - 01-08-2018 This is very interesting! Thanks! *NSFL Team Budget Visualizations - 7hawk77 - 01-08-2018 This is absolutely fantastic. Well done! *NSFL Team Budget Visualizations - Molarpistols - 01-08-2018 This is pretty cool. Our RB spending will go down quite a bit next year, (and technically went up since this was posted, Petrakis swapped). Getting an active in a spot we've struggled in was well worth it, especially since it also took the player from a conference rival. |
