*Portland strikes down secondaries! - Supersquare04 - 01-07-2018 In the first 2 games this year the Pythons lost both, but they stayed in it to the end in both largely due to the Roenick-Aaron connection, or as Pythons twitter seems to say, #RAC. In both games Dwayne Aaron put up impressive numbers, and here they are. Aaron currently stands with 12 catches, 126 yards, and 2 touchdowns. compared to the rest of the DSFL he has debatebly the most well rounded stats, if not the 2nd best well rounded stats. he is 3rd in catches, behind Gault (PB) and Tuck Jr. (KC). He also finishes 3rd in yards, behind Gault (PB) and Fuller (PB) who both finished with over 200 yards...yeah they are kind of overpowered. Finally he comes away with the 2nd most Touchdowns, beat out only by Fuller (PB). If we consider that PB is a bot team, the only actual players who outperformed him in any of the 3 categories was Tuck Jr. who narrowly edged Aaron out with 2 more catches, with the rest of his stats fairly mediocre. This isn't even counting Aaron's 29 yard catch which is currently the 2nd longest behind Fullers 80 yard Touchdown (ARE YOU KIDDING!?!?!?!). That's not even the end of Dwayne Aarons domination. He racked up 146 yards in Kick returns, which is a DSFL best and 48 yards better than the person in 2nd place. The 23rd Overall pick was taken behind all other wide receivers besides Blessed Storm who would later be traded to Portland for only a 3rd round pick (Talk about a steal!). Right now GMs are kicking themselves for passing on the dangerous passing game that Aaron creates. Tijuana must be kicking themselves more than everyone else, they traded away Blessed Storm who has been doing very good for having to share the ball with Aaron. He currently stands with 8 Receptions (Tied for 8th), and 108 receiving yards (5th). Between the 2 of them they have over 200 yards and 20 catches. I don't think that anyone outside Portlands locker room saw this coming. When asked about how he and Storm have performed, Aaron answered this, "We've both been pushing each other and working with Austin (Roenick) and listening to coach, right now the only thing holding us back is ourselves. We just need to perform like this week in and week out, and if we want to win the Ultimus we need to be doing even better. And don't forget about Glenn McPoyal, he opens up a lot of passing lanes and isn't even a target every play due to blocking assignments. The guy will make you pay if you dismiss him." We asked Pythons GM PDXBaller what he thought of his wide receivers these last 2 games. "I think we're definitely a young team with lots of growing to do. Both Aaron and Storm are new to the league combined with a new QB and it's unreasonable to expect us to come out winning all the games early on or smashing the previous seasons winning record. I think Aaron is doing well as our primary receiver and performance in week 1 was excellent for a first regular season game. I can't complain at all given his receptions, yardage, and touchdown that game. He was very consistent in week 2 against KC as well and I'm pleased with how he's trending. I think Storm has a bit more growing to do, but will get there since hes a credible threat when open. We're going to depend on him when defenses start to tighten up n Aaron and I know he'll step up soon." With all this, I ask you, the reader, how you feel about the Pythons passing attack. Will they return to the Wachter-Crush dream team from last year or will they continue the losing streak? 638 Words READY FOR GRADING GRADED *Portland strikes down secondaries! - PDXBaller - 01-07-2018 Excellent article! *Portland strikes down secondaries! - Goretron - 01-07-2018 Beast!
