I'm not entirely sure if this is even allowed, but i'm gonna say that Tijuana's 50 TPE Free Safety Eddie Kim is the DSFL's most underrated player in the league. Somehow, Kim has managed to get 5 of the 8 interceptions that Tijuana has recorded so far this season, with 1 being against the San Antonio Marshals in week 3, and 4 coming against the Palm Beach Solar Bears in week 5. Leading the league in picks is a difficult task, and somehow, our 50 TPE inactive free safety is accomplishing just that. Along with leading the league in picks and recording more than half of Tijuana's total interceptions, Kim also has 5 passes defended, only 3 behind the league leader this season. Now, some of the credit might go to the rest of Tijuana's defense, as our front 7 is one of the best in the league, featuring Bojcik, Enchant, Mills, and GM bot Defensive End, but Kim is a straight ball-hawk this season. Adding on those 5 picks to his career total, Kim actually has the DSFL career record for interceptions. As the new co-gm of the luchadores, I was looking at ways to maybe increase our talent at the safety level, but with Kims performance so far, im not so sure we should mess with what we have going on with our 50 TPE inactive FS.

While everyone has focused on the dominant Yellowknife Wraiths offense, the defense has quietly put together an okay season. While WRs and QBs and a certain RB (Kennedy) have put up historically large numbers, most people have glossed over some defensive contributors. While the point differential isn't too pretty, allowing 23 points per game, the defense has given the offense a chance to win every game. Even on the defense, the dominant D-Line gets most of the attention. The most underrated player on the Wraiths, and possibly the most underrated secondary player in the league, is Clee Hardrool. Again, quietly compared to the offense, the defense has recorded 11 interceptions (tied for 1st) and 23 sacks (tied for 2nd). So the defense has been exciting. Clee Hardrool has led the team in tackles and INTs. He also has 2 sacks and 3 pass deflections. In 6 games, that is an incredible stat line. 6 tackles, 0.5 INTs, 0.5 PDs, and 0.3 sacks per game is really good for a Safety in this league. So again, while the offense gets all the glory and the attention for the 5-1 record YKW has so far this season, the defense has held it together well, and a lot of that thanks should be directed for Clee Hardrool for his stat line so far this season.

I am going to give an unironic shout out to the man, the myth, the legend, the most popular boy in Saskatoon, Logan Noble. Noble was acquired by the Legion as a stand-in QB while the team searched for their future QB. Despite only being a journeyman stand-in, Noble has performed quite well this season (up until week 6).

Up until week 6, Noble had a terrific 8 touchdowns to only 1 interception, one of the best TD:INT ratios in the entire league. Noble also currently has the second best completion percentage in the league, at 61.9%, 1% behind Orosz. Obviously week 6 was a disaster, where Noble threw 6 interceptions against the outstanding Wraiths defense. But if we completely ignore this one outlier, Noble has quietly been a very effective QB. His biggest knock has been his lack of volume, as the Legion offense has up to this point leaned heavily on its run game. Indeed, Noble only has about 1400 passing yards, 7th in the league and 400 yards behind the 6th placed QB. It is this efficiency that is why I believe Noble is one of the more underrated players in the league, though I'm not saying he's outstanding or anything.

Far and away, the most underrated player in the league is Timote Shoate of the Las Vegas Legion. Stop. That look right there, that you gave me when you read that? Yeah. THAT look. That’s the shit I am talking about. I bet that you have just ZERO respect for that guy. Despite the fact that he’s been playing for the Legion for what is now his fourth season without demanding trades or highjacking them in free agency…ya know what? That’s “stat” number 1. He gets paid the minimum salary, 500k, to be a STARTER at cornerback. How many other players do that? Did you guess “zero?” Probably not. You just aren’t putting any effort into this, are you? Being a cornerback isn’t easy. It seems no matter how good you are, in this pass-friendly league, you are going to allow catches. All you can do is tackle them after. Shoate did a LOT of that in S4, accumulating 61 tackles in 14 games. After 6 games this year, though? 14 tackles. That is DEAD LAST among cornerbacks. He is on track to finish with half as many tackles. On top of that, his passes defensed is on the same track as last year. Underrated.

An under rated player on the Arizona Outlaws has to be Goodson. This is someone who literally no one talks about. Could you please point me to the article, podcast, hell even comment that talks about him? This is someone who was a rookie last year, and was thrust into a starting role. he took on the challenge, stayed quiet, and did everything he could to help the team win. Yea maybe we did not win the Ultimus, and we might not even make the playoffs this year, but he's been such a great guy in the LR and on the field. This guy deserves all the credit in the world yet not even one person talks about him. I want you guys to start writing articles and talking about him in your podcasts right now! Do it, because he deserves it. You can shit talk Asipi and the defense all you want, but you cant shit talk Goodson because he's stayed active and not even talked any trash. Respect to my guy, because he hasnt complained one bit. I will be really disappointed in you all if you do not write them words. Watch his stats whenever we play, because he is a beast!

The Baltimore Hawks gunslinger QB Avon Blocksdale has been underrated this season. For much of the season he has had a poor completion percentage and is QB'ing a team that is currently out of the playoff picture. Through six games he has the highest passer rating in the league and the 2nd least interceptions, and thanks to a couple strong games, his completion percentage has improved to just about league average. The NSFL is currently all about the pass. Pass a lot to have a great offense and do what you can on defense to prevent being the victim of an air attack. The Hawks currently have 1/2 of that equation down. Blocksdale has steadily improved to being one of the most talented pocket passers in the entire league ever since dropping a bunch of weight and position switching to QB a couple seasons ago. The Hawks offense has many talented weapons, and if the Hawks want to go on a run and qualify for the playoffs, it will be because of this immensely talented QB leading the way. It's been a tough start to the season with the Hawks narrowly losing close games to some of the top teams in the league, fans are hoping the second half of the season could make up for it. (217)

The most underrated player this season in the DSFL is none other than Portland Pythons tight end Glenn McPoyal. McPoyal was a highly touted tight end in the draft, and I think the Pythons got an absolute steal with this kid. He's big, strong, fast, and physical. He has all of the traits you want in a successful tight end, and I think he's going to be a force in the DSFL and for the duration of his career in the NSFL.

In an offense that is highlighted by Dwayne Aaron, McPoyal has flown under the radar thus far, amassing only 159 yards in 6 games. However, McPoyal has also proven himself as a blocker with 6 pancakes so far this season. McPoyal has 146 TPE early in his DSFL career, and he's primed to take on a larger and larger role as time goes on. His low receiving numbers are most likely a symptom of a league that traditionally doesn't have tight ends with out of this world statistics as well as limited time to get one the same page as his young, albeit talented, quarterback Austin Roenick. Underrated now, look out for McPoyal to start turning heads in the very near future.

The most underrated person this season without a doubt is Connor Tanner. The Las Vegas Legion have assembled a truly awe-inspiring array of talented superstars that never would have happened if it weren't for Connor Tanner's dastardly plans to ruin the Legion and force some of its roster to retire.

It all started last offseason when Tanner cooked up a plan most foul. For reasons that have never been discovered and for which no remotely believable theories have been proffered he sought to ruin Las Vegas and the NSFL at large by orchestrating a mass retirement of players who otherwise were active, contributing members of the league who truly enjoyed their time here. Somehow Tanner was able to brainwash much of the team into hating the league and they became pliant enough to retire with him.

Much talk was made of folding the Legion or how the league could survive but after the absolutely incredible season the Legion are having it's clear that that was premature and that a handful of discontented inactives retiring wasn't the death sentence many thought at the time. This season the Legion have participated in 7 games so far! And have even scored points! So who's laughing now KEYGAN?!
