NEW MEDIA GRADING SCALE - 124715 - 01-21-2018

Hello everyone,

I am glad to announce that the media scale I have been working on is done. With the approval of the Head Office (except for perhaps @AsylumParty who said "lol gtfo numbers") and Senior Grader bovovovo, the new grading scale will take effect as soon as I can get my formulae to work (so soon, hopefully).

Without further ado:

Each word will have a value. There will be no more tiers. The values are as follows:
First 400 words: $1450
Words 401-600: $1620
Words 601-100: $1850
Words 1001-1500: $1890
Words 1501-2000: $1850
Words 2001-2500: $1720
Words 2501-3000: $1650
All articles above 2500 words will also receive a bonus of $400,000.

Here is a little comparison:

Comparison:
Words/old pay/new pay
400/400k/580k
600/1,000k/904k
1000/1,600k/1,644k
1500/2,100k/2,589k
2000/2,800k/3,514k
2500/3,300k/5,269k
3000/4,500k/5,599k
4000/5,750k/7,249k
4500/6,250k/8,074k
5000/7,000k/8,899k
6000/8,000k/10,549k

Please post below with any questions, concerns, comments, reactions, complaints, mindless whining and other banter. The scale will be revised if any problems arise (now we said that with the old scale, didn't we? Oh well).

Immediately follows that statement with a tier based pay scale.

i decided to expand on the comparison so that people understand that this is a much better system unless you want to make articles between 600-800 words.

So everyone benefits except for those who write what is by far the most common article length.

I think the question many have is why. What is the reasoning behind what seems like a more complicated system?

The old pay scale looked like this:

Which is kinda nonsensical

Bovo gave you a good answer. The problem was people were just trying to get to 600 words, because that was the most advantageous count. It meant 300 word articles were terribly fluffed, and people who may have been able to deliver a meaningful 1000 word article would a)fluff it and split it or B) trim it. Because there was no point in posting any article that is not 600 words.

Also, as for being more complicated, it'll still happen in a spreadsheet automatically.

So you encourage guys to write offensively long articles that not a lot of people would actually read but have a lot of words. Here we go boring 3,000 word articles yeaaaah cool. Hopefully the plagiarism team is going to be on high alert.

How is that different from before? You get more money the more you write. It just discourages people from submitting 3 straight articles that probably would have been 450 words if you take out the fluff at 600 words, and encourages those people to keep it to 1 article at probably 1400 words. Also allows people to stop when they mean to stop rather than adding random shit to stretch it to the next milestone.

The extra 2 words to go from 598 to 600 is only a change of $3,000 instead of $402,000.
