I'm here today writing an article about something that bothers me. The new payout structure for media is absolutely garbage now. I will agree with everyone who said that the old grading scale was nonsensical. But that's no reason to make this new scale more nonsensical. It's not nonsensical in the way it doesn't make sense but that you are requiring us to Write much longer articles. People on here work full time jobs, go to school or even both. I work full time and I only am able to write my articles and my pts in my fifteen minute breaks or my thirty minute lunch break. I usually do it during my breaks though. As Someone who has been writing articles and media posts and works for time, I don't want to have to write more. Six hundred words was perfect. It was enough effort to be worth it and short enough that I could finish start and finish then during my breaks. But now for whatever reason people want us to write longer articles. I will not do that. I can't do it. It might possibly make inactive on this site. I love being on here and I love the community but I can't tend to this full time. Something better, in my opinion would have been making six hundred words worth one million and make one thousand two hundred words worth two and a half million. That way if you want guys to write more they have an insensitive than just writing multiple six hundred words articles is what I do. I'm not saying that this is the best way to grade it but it is definitely more simple. And easier to do media while still putting in effort. At the very least I think there should of been an open discussion about it. Not just bam were changing it and fuck you guys. I'm sure there's people that disagree with me. But I'm sure the people very busy in their lives would have to agree with me. I think we actually still should have an open discussion about the media grading process. But then again who the hell am I? This is just my opinion and not trying to personally attack anyone so I hope no one gets all pissy at me for shitting on ideas they believe in. Also there might be an open discussion about this topic that I don't know about. If there is someone should definitely let me know so I can voice my opinion. And no since the word count is higher I have to have some filler and some garbage in my article. So thank you again for ever decided to make that decision to write longer articles. There might be a lot of garbage time in my shit now. I can even call it garbage time, a specific time I use to just ramble and stretch my shit out. I think that sounds like an absolutely positively great idea. What do you think? Hell I don't care what you think. But to add some more since I just thought of it. I would absolutely love to stay and be apart of this community and be active on here but I can't do it if I have to be constantly typing. I think that this has been a pretty constructive garbage time section on my post. Well unfortunately this is the end to my article I know you're probably upset and sad about that, even though I have to assume that no one actually reads any of these. But if you do, be sad that I am ending this long bitching section. And hopefully, by the time I'm done typing all this out, it will reach seven hundred words. I really want to make quality articles and this is my first, and least in my opinion, shitty quality article. I just really wanted to bitch about the new grading process so thank you for allowing me to vent. Welp this is the end of me for now. I'm looking forward to responses and comments on my article. Thank you all for tuning in. Next time I promise a thought out and quality diary post from non other than Glenn McPoyal.

Honestly I’m having a hard time seeing the problem? How does the new pay scale force you to have to write long articles? It just evens the pay out.

I don’t think I like the bonus for reaching 2,000 words or whatever it is, so I agree with you on that

When I did my quick Calculations after this was announced, It was clear that the only areas that were hurt were between 600-800 words. you did a couple of journals that were around the 600 word mark. If you would combine two of those articles to make it 1200 words, it will be worth more than two separate articles at 600 words, not to mention the higher rate of pay per word after each milestone mark, meaning that would be an additional $600 per word over 1200 words aside from the $1000 you are already getting. The reason for the change is that we felt people were taking advantage of it by posting part 1, part 2, and part 3 right after each other just to be more efficient with their pay than to make it easy to read and discuss within the community. Some people break theirs up because that is what their time allows, and that seems to be what you are doing. thats fine. We were not trying to hurt you with this decision. but people were easily taking advantage of it, and I feel that having everything in 1 article is much better than spread out across 5 different articles.

I have a job, I go to school, I am on a collegiate sports team, I am Vice president of a non-profit, I have time for friends, GM of a team, and I write long ass articles. Now it might be convenient for you to write during your break time at work, but that cant be the only time you can write, and what about taking 2 breaks to write 1 article? just a hypothetical; it does not mean you have to do that. Sure, 600 words was nice, but you were just used to that because that was the first milestone and the closer to 600 (but above) the more efficient each word was. you would be saying the same thing if the milestone was set at 400 words or 800 words. Think of it this way, you can keep the same efficiency at 400 words as you do at 600 words, but write less.

I am not saying that you are 100% wrong, but I think this is the better system and hope you can see it through my eyes. There is a lot of benefit that comes with this change, it just hurts those who only wrote between 600 and 800 word articles.

I can back Sapp's claim. I wrote a 4000+ word article and realized i'd make way more money breaking it into 4 1k pieces. People can and have done that specifically for that reason. This is a good change that creates more money for people who write more. Period.

Hell..I'd like to see a new payscale extended to podcasting as well. As recently noted on the exception "Not Famous yet" podcast that @Roly and @TheHero do....casts stop paying after an hour. Let's fix that and make it pay per content instead of limit and bonus based like the articles were before now.
