Er.... Now there's a name I haven't heard in some time..... Why yes, I've heard the name in passing. I suppose, I suppose.... Yes, I do know Er. I know him... Yes, very well but also.... I suppose in some ways it seems that I never knew him at all. Do I know Tim Pest? Yes, I thought so. But then facts, well, facts change. And it turns out you never knew Pest and that all you knew was Er. So yes, I suppose I did know Er but I never really did.

Ahh Bovo, my old friend. My friend from across all worlds. Yes, thank you first and foremost for this question of the utmost intelligence my dear Bovo. Yes, pleasure to see you at the press conference. Now, getting to your question, if I may, I will just begin by saying yes this is the greatest day of my life. While I am still not 100% convinced my team is not all just one guy. But Asipi is too eccentric to be a creation? You understand? Do you understand what I am getting at here Bovo? Yes. Thank you. Pleasure to see you Bovo. I hope to be seeing you around this league for a long time. Yes. Good. Thank you endlessly Mr. Bovo, king of New Orleans, hero of Providence, beloved scholar of the sim.

Ha, yes. Very clever, very good. Yes, Mr. Sharpei I appreciate the question. I have a feeling I'll be getting a lot of these, yes. Well Mr. Sharpei, fellow S2 rookie, it's an honor to even be in the same conference room as you let me say that. Still playing OL after all of these years, phenomenal really. Yes. Congrats to you on a fruitful career. Now, to the matter of the inquiry you have placed at my podium. I am not Er no, I am in contact with Er... You see, that fateful night when the Iamslm investigation came down there was a large lightning strike that hit me and Er's house (remember, I live in Er's garage) and he was killed instantly. Zapped dead. Horrid, Mr. Sharpei, and to spare your sensitivities I won't get too much further into the gory details. But you see, Er is dead. However, Mr. Sharpei, if you'll allow me to speak openly..... I still get visits from Er in my dreams. He tells me what to do. He has told me it is time to return to the league. I can not control these mystic sorts of things, you understand? No. I really can't decide when it happens. But it do. It's horrid. It's disgusting, Er's burnt head comes to me in the dreams and he shouts. But his voice is powerful. It is all-knowing. I was not a superstitious man, you understand, Mr. Sharpei. Ghosts? Ghouls? I never believed none of it. But what are the odds, a thunderstorm on the night Er was found out. Killing him. Dead. Now I get visits from Er. In some ways I am Er, yes. In other ways... No. But the same can be said for anyone in this league. Mr Sharpei.... Are you Er?

Ahh Mr. Winchester my old friend. It's nice to see you here. Thank you for coming, and may I say a congratulations on the successful switch to the defensive side of the ball. Yes, thank you Mr. Winchester, yes for the good question. I have not followed the changes intensely you understand? I have been focused on my on field production for the Arizona Outlaws of this, the National Sim Football League. However, I will say that I am a fan of the Legion's nickname change. I have seen, and I am sure that you as someone who is connected in this simulation football league has seen this as well, some folks who aren't crazy about the switch but I think it is an original and interesting choice. The color scheme is quite good. Yes, I enjoy it. Hats off to Mr. Bovo. He did a good job. As far as the other changes it is good but, in a way it is also sad. You see, for awhile I was a very active member. Then when the investiagtion of Er went down it became hard. Me and AD have rebuilt our relationship luckily. Youngcricket and I never did bury that hatchet. Er and I are on fine terms. But my point is that the league isn't as it used to be and while I think Dermott and the Head Office are doing a great job and that the league is structurally, well, at least 10 times better than it was previously. For that they deserve kudos. But truthfully, it's just different. And I am coming to terms with that slowly. A position switch of my own, if you will.

Hello Leafer. Yes, thank you for coming to this conversation with the old ancient Chessmen. Yeah, it's good to see you. How are you? Family well? I am glad. Yes, alright well let me be honest with you: No. Er and I are not related. Well, I mean, I suppose we are all related in some sense, yes? What are the odds? That you and I and er and timeconsumer and everyone would be born in the same time period? Stumble across the same league? Build bonds, friendships, rivalries..... The odds, as you'll see, Mr. Leafer, are rather astronomical. In the microsense no Er and I are not related. He is not my uncle, nor my father. Nor my cousin. Nor my brother. He was my brother, perhaps not in the familial sense. But you understand that I am using the male friendship meaning of the word brother. In that we were close. Talked every day. But no, he has not attended a family reunion of mine at any time. However, I am still living out of his garage. I've gotten to know his family rather well. The garage is nice. Pretty spacious. Got everything you could need in here. Er says don't lick the oils out from underneath his car but come on, what am I supposed to do? Leave a free meal just sitting there? Heck no. Excuse my language. Yes, thank you for the question. Lot of questions on Er today. I respect that. I wasn't expecting it but I suppose now I should've been expecting it shouldn't I? Yes. It was a rather big scandal and I am realizing now I never really made myself open for questioning. I know quite a few folks probably wanted my head on the proverbial stake -- no? Perhaps not. The NSFL is a results league. Chess is a dominant Wideout. That is what concerns me at this juncture. Will Er ever come back? I presume you are all wondering this -- as am I. I would welcome him back into this sim world. Yes, he'd be a welcome visitor to this place. It would be difficult, it would be a Sisyphean task to overcome it all. The jokes would be endless, do you not agree? But Er should come back. Play it fair and square and close to the chest. If I was a General Manager, which, you'll recall, I was a General Manager many moons ago I would draft him in the first round. Is that disturbing of me? After all that I've been through? What does this say about my condition to this sim universe? It says a lot, and perhaps none at all. He's a good player, people forget that Tuck was the most dominant and highest payed player in the league. He could not be stopped. Now we see, perhaps, some other things contributed to that. It's a shame. But no, Er is not related to me by blood.

Have you had a chance to get to know your new teammates from the draft? How are they adjusting to the locker room?

Thank you good sire SwagSloth for attending this conference and asking me these questions. They are of a noble intent and pursuit. I wish you well in your search for knowledge. As for Budda Browning this is a man I respect a great deal. Yes, I respect him an immense amount. I will tell you this story about Mr. Browning: Once when he was a mere sophomore at University of Washington I, by happenstance as many things come to be, was flipping through and caught a game of his against the vile USC Trojans. The true monsters of the West. Browning put on a display of athletic prowess that brought the vile USC Trojans to their wounded knees in despair. Browning dominated them at every facet of the game. He is a good man, playing alongside Budda Browning is the honor of a lifetime. He is a respectful gentleman. Another thing about Budda is that he is six foot tall and very quick. He runs quick, all of the time. Which is an impressive thing. I do enjoy watching the man run. It's impressive.

Now to your next question I will admit that I have been so focused on my off season training program that it has been difficult for me to get into contact with the newest Outlaws. Let me then take a second now publicly, thank you Mr Swag Sloth for allowing this to happen, welcome the new rookies to the Arizona Outlaws franchise. It is both the honor of a lifetime and the albatross of a broken man to become an Arizona Outlaws. The Barry Bonds of the National Sim Football League once kept his beloved equipment in these very lockers. It is an honor and a disgrace to wear this uniform. Mostly honor, but a beloved amount of disgrace. The disgrace builds you up, it makes you stronger. They've always hated us Outlaws, yes, the hatred I can feel it. It's Season 2, we're at Orange County and the fans are calling for my head -- I can hear it still.

What do you think of Arbin Asipi Jr
Why are you so much better than that bum darren smallwood?

Ahh yes, the boss man has come by to inquire. I love it. It's excellent to see you Mr. Asipi, my old friend. Let me, if you will, let me dive right into these questions by first saying that Ryan Pace is, in my humble opinion, a demigod. A lot of people said hideous things when Ryan Pace was appointed General Manager, the sickening hyenas wanted blood. For what reason? He has now proven these animals wrong. He is a fantastic General Manager and worshipped as God amongst the Outlaws. It surprises me not even a little that these fools would be so intimidated by Mr. Pace. They could not see what, below his surface, was a tactical genius. You see, I used to be in the Co-GM chair just like Mr. Pace and I've learned that the chair is not always the easiest to sit in -- hyperbolically. He has done a phenomenal job, he is incredible. I think the world of him.

To your next question, allow me to take this chance in a public forum to say there have been times me and Asipi have fought like dogs. He even blocked me for a spell. Yes, it's true. I admit to it now before the world. But the thing is I love Arbin Asipi Jr and I want to see him succeed both on and off the field. I challenge him, perhaps this is not my place? Perhaps. Yes. But Asipi Jr is a fantastic individual. I wish nothing but the very best for Arbin Asipi Jr. His father was a great man, one of the best. Offensive line? Great. Defensive line? Great. He could do it all. Will his son live up to this massive shadow? Yes. He will. I know this. Arbin Asipi is the best part of the NSFL. Back in the original Outlaws Dynasty* days, Asipi was our Bill Lambieer. He would taunt the other players. He was unstoppable. What a man he was, what a man. And now Junior is around, he's coming to bring Arizona a untainted championship. That is, after all, the goal of this league. Arbin Asipi is the greatest. In every sense.

Darren Smallwood.... Checkers. What an interesting question. If you'll allow I need a second to gather my thoughts on this. Darren Smallwood.... Hmm............. He is a phenomenal human being. I have gone through the wars with this man. You'll recall that we founded a baseball franchise together. Who would've thought this possible? After the rivalry we established. Now.... Brothers! Interesting how these things work. The thing about Smallwood's playing career that many in the media forget is that he now plays the runningback position. Isn't that something? Smallwood. Ha. What a fella he is. I remember when they brought him down for tampering. I was sickened by the heavy handed ban. Sickened I say. On the field he is a competitor. I am the superior talent at WR. That is evident. My career has first ballot Hall of Fame written all over it. Smallwood is a fantastic human being. I enjoy him a great deal, you understand Mr. Asipi? He's a good man. But on the field the bets are, so to speak, off. At that point Chess becomes like a ferocious warrior.
