Extend DSFL to 2 Years - dropbear - 02-21-2018

I initially posted this in the rookie discord but wanted to share here for more visibility.

Excluding players such as @PaytonM34 and @Supersquare04 who were prolific TPE earners during their year developing, it seems players moving from DSFL to NSFL are at a disadvantage due to the headstart pro players have earning TPE.

To combat this, what if the DSFL career time was 2 years as standard, but players like Mills and Aaron -- generational talents -- could declare after 1 year if they felt they could have an immediate impact.

This would allow more casual players to spend an additional year in a league where they get to see results and influence games more, while also helping to bring them up to NSFL standard in terms of TPE.

There is also the added drama/fun/excitement of "will they or won't they declare for the draft" and having players declare early to land on desired teams or languish in the DSFL to avoid a Browns-esque selection that could ruin their career.

It will also make the DSFL more competitive and help to develop the existing rivalries even further.

Thoughts?

Sounds good I like it, my only question would the second year count against their regression? thats gonna change everything because if it does I think everyone will pretty much try and go for the NSFL. If it doesnt I think everyone even the good player will happily spend another year in the DSFL for the TPE.

It would still count toward regression otherwise it's unfair. I think the players who are really concerned about having lengthy careers will typically declare 1st year anyway, and will be in the league the same time as they would under current rules.

What this is targetted at is allowing the more casual players to have more fun and thus keep them involved in the community. Rather than getting into the NSFL after a year and becoming a 3rd stringer and seeing huge dropoffs in stats/involvement, they can build their player up, get used to the sim and community, land jobs and make money, build TPE, and come into the NSFL as true pros after 2 years.

The guys who don't have a learning curve with updating and tracking PTs etc. and who are churning out media or GFX and load up on equipment aren't typically going to need the extra year, but it will be vital in establishing more casual players and helping them feel like their player is important before moving them behind some of the established members on the depth chart in the NSFL.

We'd also probably need to raise the max TPE cap. I propose 300.

I've wanted this for a long time.
