Hello, I'm Rickey. I've got quite a bit of experience around the sim league community on other leagues and I tried out the EFL but it wasn't for me (development system was wacky). I decided to move over to this league after hearing about. You haven't seen this username around before, and that's because (at least for now) I have decided to keep my "identity" a secret to give every GM a chance to get to know me in a new way and to make new fun connections with league members I've never heard of. I'll be creating in the S8 class and I just have three questions.
1) When is the trade deadline?
2) What is the position most needed in general around the league?
3) What is the position deemed most important here apart from quarterback?

1) When is the trade deadline?
The trade deadline is Week 10 of the DSFL which starts next Thursday, on 3/8.
2) What is the position most needed in general around the league?
Defensive Tackles, Defensive Ends, Linebackers, Cornerbacks, Safeties, Kickers/Punters
3) What is the position deemed most important here apart from quarterback?
Defensive players are very important in this league.

I was going to say, very defensive haha. I've never used the sim before so I'm not sure what the stat outputs are like but I'm guessing the positions that show the most fun stats to look at would be LB, S, and K/P so I'll likely end up going with one of those.
In terms of positional needs for the worst teams in the league, which of those is needed most by them (of LB, S, or K/P)

Welcome! Looks like PDX got you squared away. RB may be of interest if you like offense as the top RBs are going to start fighting regression pretty soon

I'll be playing the defensive side of the ball for sure, I'll have decided when I start releasing articles over the next few days hyping up Rickey Romero prior to his waiver signing. DSFL GM's better be getting ready

What builds do the most successful linebackers in the NSFL currently use?

I'd recommend balanced

Don't mind if I jump in here.
For linebacker you can really succeed as any archetype, they really are all very good. I personally have found a lot of success as balanced but speed rush, power rush, coverage are all excellent archetypes as well when used properly by the GM.
Also a safety can be played at linebacker. Someone with high speed and good hands at WLB in the 4-3 formation gets good sacks and also a lot of PDs and INTs.
So truly the field is open for you to go with the style that speaks to you the most.
