The DSFL came to a close and we went from number one seed to first round elimination. They say when you're in the desert you need to listen for the howls, well you never expect that in Portland. the Coyotes came through strong and I have to tip my hat to them. They had our backs to the ropes from the start of the game. What can I say? We were beat and Miller put up quite the show, he's going to have quite an NSFL career, one I hope to admire and to surpass.

What can I say about that game? Well it was brutal. I've never felt so helpless in my career. I caught six receptions, seventy four yards total, but I felt the suffocation from the formidable Coyotes defense the entire game. Every catch, every yard, it was earned. They have a talented team.

My first pass attempt was broken up by Smith, followed by a drop. Cole put it right in my hands, but the thought of Smith was in me that play. Right behind me half a yard's distance. That guy can play and he got in my head early on. I caught a pass, but the very next play Cole was intercepted. It was a tough defense to face, absolutely brutal. It didn't get much better.

The next pass Cole threw my way I dropped, guess what happened next? Another McCoy interception. I feel like I was the bad luck charm for him early on. Maybe he was thinking of my benefit too much, maybe he felt too comfortable, maybe I was too nervous, but I feel like I let him down. That Smith guy, he is the one who ended up with it, he terrorized us, it felt like he knew every move that we had.

We staged a comeback, but honestly I think it was too late against a team this good. Call it rookie jitters but we just fell flat.

The Marshalls ended up with the championship, a team that I, as a walk-on, thought I'd be a part of. They seemed eager and contacted me quickly. Call me quick to jump, but I was excited. I ended up on Portland and couldn't be happier, but there's something bittersweet about seeing the first team to contact you, but not take you, win the championship. True, I get it. Well played guys, but Portland is taking it next year.

I've heard from almost every team by now for the draft and have made it clear that I want to go back to Portland for one year. It would be beneficial to the NSFL and to Portland. We have unfinished business. I have concerns though, PDX is gone and McCoy's future with Portland is uncertain. I don't know what will happen, I guess there's never any way to know other than to live your life.

It would be an honor just to be drafted, so it's time to just be patient and hope to be key player in the franchise I'm drafted. We will see soon enough.

Go Portland!

Mark Grau.

This is great. Smile

Makes me very curious for where you'll end up and how they'll use you. Being such a high TPE earner, it wouldn't surprise me at all if you ended up starting in the NSFL day one. So don't pin all your hopes on being in that Pythons uniform next year.

Never know what happens, though. I'm pulling for you!

I respect your drive to return to the DSFL and give Portland another chance at a championship. I definitely have that desire to come back to the DSFL after our Ultimini loss, but we'll see what happens with the draft.

I know you'll be a beast in the NSFL when you decide you're ready, and I look forward to competing against you (and possibly playing with you).

Miller isn't allowed to stay down! Haha

Thanks for the kind words guys.
