When Oles first started off as a CB in the notable S2 class that featured Oles, Turner, Lavelle, and Spector, he always wanted to pair up with one of those guys and create a dominant secondary. Spector was always a guy Oles admired, a calm, quiet personality Spector leaves his game out on the field, he is a fantastic CB and has been a mainstay of the dominant Otters defense. Now that Oles is a QB and is now causing issues for the secondary, he still wants to play with Spector. Spector would be a great addition to the Liberty and would upgrade the stout secondary for the team, and Oles has always had a level of respect for the man who calls Orange County home. His loyalty, his attitude, everything about Spector is admirable and when every game is a fight you need to have a good defense and secondary. He would play well into the Liberty defense and it’d be nice for Oles to not have to deal with him messing his passes up, and instead helping Oles by picking off Akselsen, Blocksdale, and Boss. While it seems like it may never happen, the amount of respect Oles has for Spector is unmatched, and if it could ever happen (which seems unlikely as both players don’t seem to be leaving their team anytime soon) Oles would love to have this guy by his side. So for a player like myself, Turk Turkleton, I have kinda grown together with the league. I was there from the get go, one of the pioneers of NSFL football really. So I never grew up watching these teams as I lived the dream. However there is one player I would love to play with and that is fellow kicker man, Jean Dackson, @`Run_MCM` . Not to long ago Dean and I were talking about the kicker role and he was bragging about how he has the strongest legs in the league (This because I stopped paying attention to power and started focusing on accuracy) and yet his punting stats were suffering some how. So the main reason for me to want to play together with him is to help him out. Clearly his kicker duties are hindering his amazing powerful legs and the level of punting he should be doing. I will replace his as the main kicker so he can put all his focus on his punts. This will help the both of us and out team out in the long run. My secondary reason to play together with him is because he's a chill guy and maybe in a differnt life I`ll be able to play with him. (210 words of gooey PTness) (S7) - PT 4 - Trade Deadline - ItsJustBarry - 04-30-2018 This is easy. The player I would be most excited to obtain before the trade deadline would be defensive lineman Eli Kamaka. His strong work ethic and dominant performance on the field is matched by nobody, including self proclaimed best player Arbin Asipi Jr. Taken in the 5th round of the S3 draft, he could arguably be the biggest diamond in the rough find of that draft. While I didn’t take much notice of him during the S3 season, my adoration for Eli Kamaka began in S4 when I was brought on as a backup writer for the Defensive Line Standouts articles. This is where I discovered just how special he truly is. Watching him develop into the player he is now was captivating and he is a player I never look forward to facing even if we will never line up 1 on 1 on the field. It’s just a shame that he resides in that literal shithole of a city, Philadelphia. If we could wangle Eli Kamaka before the trade deadline, that would be a prodigious accomplishment but you would have to deliberate who is really saving who in this situation. If for the unfortunate chance we are unable to acquire Kamaka before the trade deadline this Wednesday, his contract is closing out at the end of S8. If I must, I can wait until S9 to welcome Eli into out locker room. tl;dr @PDXBaller - you should not re-sign with Philadelphia in S8 and test the free agency market. Code: 223 words (S7) - PT 4 - Trade Deadline - SwagSloth - 04-30-2018 Well, if Bzerkap got tired of me annoying him and decided to kick me to the curb (and who could blame the poor guy?), where would I want to go? Well, the answer is simple, but surprising. The New Orleans Second Line. First off, it’s led by my old bud Bovo, who I’m still very fond of. I trust the direction that he’s put the team in and I’d love to help them. Plus, if Dustin Evans and I would paired together, I’m sure we’d make Borkus look like a star. The main reason I’m interested in New Orleans is that it’s the real hometown of both my character and myself. So, as soon as the Legion relocated there, it became a goal of mine to eventually play there. That could happen with my next character, but given that I don’t want all of my players to have the same hometown, it probably wouldn’t have the same significance. And I’d have the opportunity to help mentor a younger squad there who’s not accustomed to the type of success we’ve seen in YKW. For a team like NOLA, every win means something and that’s a feeling that can be easy to miss at times. For the same reason, the Colorado Yeti are a close second. If I weren’t on the Wraiths, I’d ultimately want to help a team that needed it. Ultimately, though, I’m not making plans to go anywhere yet as I’m signed on for 3 more seasons and very well may end my career in Yellowknife. But it’s fun to think about what else is out there. 268 Words (S7) - PT 4 - Trade Deadline - Bzerkap - 04-30-2018 Well I'm a GM so this brings me perilously close to tampering by answering this seriously in any way, so I will have to write a joke answer. Have you ever heard the tale of Spooky Ghosts and The Shadow GM? No? I thought not. It isn't a tale your mother would have told you before bed, lest she give you night terrors. You still want to hear it? Ok, but don't say I didn't warn you. Once upon a time, when the league was young and the Outlaws were dominant, there was a very spoopy team residing in North Central Canada, called the Wraiths. They were founded by a Bubba, and succeeded by a Mat, as doormats to the ASFC, their place in the league stood pat. Well, these Wraiths had trouble finding someone to help manage them. They searched long and hard, near and far, not finding any relief. Until that is, one day an ethereal presence from beyond the border approached them and offered his services. "I am beholden to another for a short period of time, but if you wish to employ my services I may be able to grant that in a...shadow capacity" Thinking long and hard the noble Wraiths declined this obvious ploy, but it was too late. Simply speaking to the creature had placed a curse on them and their GM was rendered unconscious for two weeks. Let this be a lesson to all who wish to toy with shadow realm. @tlk742 (S7) - PT 4 - Trade Deadline - caltroit_red_flames - 04-30-2018 Chad Pennington loves the team how it is and could barely even think of making any changes to do it. This is the team he wants to win the Ultimini with. However, if he were forced to pick someone to snag from another team, he wouldn't base it off of talent (though the player in mind is very talented at his position), he'd base it off of friendship. The player in mind if none other than the kicker Beat Meoff. Chad and Beat have known each other for a long time. Before the S7 DSFL draft the talked to each other about the NSFL a lot. Now they still talked, but they do things like work out together and play video games together. With how skilled Meoff is, it seems unlikely that they'd ever come together in Tijuana as the Luchadores may be unwilling to part with what it would take to get him. Additionally, the Coyotes would probably be unwilling to part with what it would take to get Pennington, as it would also require them to get Brad and Thad Pennington (as Chad would not be willing to play against the Luchadores while they are still on the team). So it seems like this is nothing more than a pipe dream. But there's nothing wrong with dreaming, is there? @Loganjj21 |
