[div align=\\\"center\\\"]THE MARSHALS[/div]

San Antonio has had a rich history of success in the DSFL with a huge pool of talented young players over the course of the past five season in the league. The team has taken home two Ultimini trophies, and the city is preparing itself for the trophy to return this season, carried on the shoulders of the giants that is one of the best rosters the DSFL has ever seen. This is a team that has been talked about in the media extensively for the past few weeks as the football community begins to recognize the true power of this masterfully crafted squad. Coming off of a weak performance in season seven, the team features a number of veteran talents who are hungry for the taste of victory, and for some players, the chance to hoist the cup one last time before they move into the NSFL or end their careers.

On offense, the team is led by rookie sensation quarterback Kevin Fitzpatrick, an elite ball managing threat who has been highly touted for his ability to avoid the rush and keep his head calm during high pressure situations. Fitzpatrick is the perfect example of a player you want leading a young team, because his cool attitude will help keep his fellow rookies intact during what is looking to be an intense season of football. Accompanying Fitzpatrick is freshman running back Marquise Brown, who was selected in the third round by the Marshals at ninth overall on Saturday. Brown is a generational backfield talent with a fire lit under his ass to succeed. Brown's impact on the team goes further than just his on field play, as he is the offensive captain for the Marshals squad this season.

Alongside these two players is a huge list of talented young players, rookies and veterans alike. Third year player Footballer Catcherman is searching for his second championship ring after winning his first in season six. His incredible receiving skills will be the perfect asset for Fitzpatrick this season. Catcherman isn't the only strong receiver on the Marshals roster though, as their last draft class brought in a handful of gifted youngsters. Two of the most notable of these are fourth round draft pick Blake Marchand and sixth round draft pick Jai Turner. The two players had an impressive performance during the pre-season with the Marshals and will be duking it out all season long for the second spot on the roster.

The dominant force that is the Marshals offense does not stop with these players though, as a few more players will play important roles on the team this coming season. Long time veteran Willy Nyquist makes his return to the Marshals at full back behind the young Marquise Brown, and will be aiding the back field in power rushing and goal line conversion. At tight end the team has two strong veterans between Alvin Chipmunk and Brandon Carter, both of which have been essential parts of the team's offense since they joined the league in season six and season five respectively. Finally, the team gained a special teams expert in alumni Rickey Ramero's cousin Emilio Ramero with their fifth round pick this off-season. Emilio has been shadowed by his cousin his entire career, but now looks to make a name for himself in the football world as one of the best kickers ever to play.

In terms of defense, the Marshals have wasted no time building up an elite unit that will heavily aid them in their run to the Ultimini this season. Their front seven is one of the most stacked cores of any team in recent history in the DSFL, and features some incredible talent. The defense is highlighted by defensive captain Brock Weathers III, who was drafted eighth overall by the Philadelphia Liberty in the season eight NSFL draft before being sent back down the DSFL to develop. Weathers recently made the change from linebacker to defensive end, and will start his front line career as part of an electric defense in San Antonio.

Weathers isn't alone in the front line though, being joined by veteran Bastion Bernhardt who will be playing his final season in the DSFL this coming year. Bernhardt has been a massive piece of the Marshals success, and will be a keystone in continuing that this season. At defensive tackle, the team features two strong rookie players in special imports Miguel and Henrique Cabero who will look to make a name for themselves in their only eligible season in the DSFL before returning home. This is a front line that will be absolutely monstrous all season long.

Moving onto the linebacker core that is being widely considered one of the deepest in the DSFL by critics, opposing players, and league officials alike. First year extraordinaire Jesse Marchand completes the Marchand connection as the forefront linebacker, balancing out the french ratio on both sides of the ball. Accompanying him is a host of graduating linebackers, with his starting partners being Ben Urlacher and Luis Elmarez. Expect fifth year linebacker Luke Kraken to see some minutes as well in special formations.

Finally, we look at the defensive back group that has been brought together almost exclusively in the last few days. This new back end core is led by returning draftee free agent Bucky Barnes, who joined the Marshals for the end of last season and their playoff game against the Luchadores. Initially Barnes was working across from only corner back Storm Woods, with the roster spots being filled by minor leaguers, but recent developments saw the free agency signing of Norwegian born Oskar Ludvig to play alongside Storm Woods and the acquisition via trade of Egan Winter who will play at strong safety with Barnes. This is a back end team that will make the air game a no fly zone.

We're joined today by Marquise Brown who answered a few of the Marshals' media team questions regarding his first season in the DSFL and his thoughts on the Marshals. Brown is looking to be a top prospect in the upcoming NSFL draft and will be fighting hard to get the Marshals to where everyone expects them to go. See exclusive snip its from his interview below.

You're a rookie running back who will be stepping straight into a starting role this season, how are you dealing with the pressure so far?
Quote:It’s way different than being in college, that’s for sure. There have been lots of fundamentals that I’ve been going over at practice and in training just so I can translate my game to the DSFL. But I’m up for any challenge and taking on the starting role on this team is no exception. I’m fully prepared to help lead this team to a championship, that’s what I’ve been paid to do after all.

San Antonio is being highly touted as having one of the best offenses in the DSFL, what are your expectations for your squad?
Quote:I totally agree. I think we have one of the best offenses this league has ever seen. We have a generational talent under center taking snaps, an insane receiving corps looking to make some noise, and obviously we’ve got a backfield poised to make waves with me taking the charge. Overall, I think we all have high expectations coming in to the season and we’re looking to get San Antonio another Ultimini ring.

San Antonio is coming off a rough season but seems to be on the come up. How is the locker room with the new additions and changes in management?
Quote:This season, we’re really focused on putting the past behind us and moving forward as a team. San Antonio wasn’t the best team last year, but that doesn’t concern us. We’ve got new weapons on the offensive and defensive front, and as far as I’m concerned, we’re a completely different team. The locker room is great, I think we’re all very motivated and eager to get the season started soon. Management has been doing an excellent job in getting us set up for the season and they’ve been working hard at making sure everything is working great. I’m glad to be in a supportive and like-minded locker room in my rookie season here in the DSFL.

You were a surprise fall into the third round, did you expect to go higher in the draft than you did?
Quote:I’m not going to lie, I was surprised to see myself drop. Going in, I thought I was a first round pick at least. I see myself as one of the best, if not the best player in this draft class. But, I fell all the way to the third round and three other teams passed on me. But I’m feeling great. I got drafted to a great team with other fantastic rookies, including the first pick of the draft. I’m really looking forward to proving those other GMs wrong and showing them that they made a huge mistake by passing on me. I’m just really hyped to start the season with my guys!

Word on the street is that the Marshals will run a past first offense due to huge receiving targets, will you adjust your game to be a possible receiving threat or remain purely speed based?
Quote:I think that the way I play ball is applicable to any type of offense in the league, whether it be spread or heavy pass first offenses such as west coast for example. I’ve thrived on my speed for my entire football career and I’ve always been fast. I’ve been working with the coaches to up my agility and my speed and keeping them in the forefront of my game. Obviously if the coaches go that direction, I’ll be on board 100%. Whatever helps us win rings.

Follow the Marshals this season as they attempt to return to the Ultimini for their third championship in three season and as the look to make history with one of the best rookie groups the league has ever seen. My name is Guillermo Ramero, owner and general manager of the San Antonio Marshals with TSN. Have a good night.

Wanna bet? Like, literally, would you be willing to put a wager on it?

I can't back down from that. In game money? 600K? Ben Horne and Kevin Fitzpatrick wager 600K on who makes it further in the playoffs: Luchadores or Marshals.

Is there an official place to make wagers?

Yes there is. In the Bank section there is a thread for user bets, a new one created each season. I made a post there and tagged you in it.
