77 dumb asses passed over a legend? Jack Durden?
All of these questions at one time came out of Jack Durden's mouth over the late night draft, and Durden is starting to wonder if this league even has any merit if scrubs are getting picked over a proven talent.
I know that I'm new HERE, but have you not seen my family's pedigree? My grandfather Jack Durden plays over in the Simulation Hockey League and is also the General Manager there. Point per game player, assistant captain of his team before, and dominant. My father Jack Durden is the greatest player to ever touch the Get On My Hockey League. He's the record holder for goals in a season, points in a season, goals in a career and has won SEVEN CHAMPIONSHIPS. That's right. SEVEN. In the 11 seasons he's played the game. He'll be the first player ever to get over 900 regular season points, and the only person to hit over 100 points in the playoffs. The next person in line for the greatness is me.
Durden has seen success in his family, and it's shocking to see such a prospect fall so low. He was drafted 78th overall by the Arizona Outlaws in the 13th round.
Yeah, I'm pissed. I don't give a damn who was here before me, who was training before me, who knows who and who rubs shoulders with whom. I. Do. Not. Give. A. Damn. I'm better than everyone else that was picked, and now, it's time to prove that.
So what's the plan now?
I'm giving Arizona a chance. I'm pissed they passed over me so many times. I'm pissed they want me to be the second running back on the team. I'm pissed that they think I'm going to stand behind someone else and watch. I guarantee that I will be taking the top spot on this team, and I'm going to be the piece they build around. I dare you to try and stop me. As I said, Arizona is getting a chance at me. I'll sign my rookie deal and see if they use me right. If not, I'll be the mercenary and go where I'm gonna get paid.
What makes you so good on the field? Why are you so cocky?
What'd you just call me you son of a bitch? Cocky? Screw that. I'm confident in my talent. I'm confident in my work ethic and fitness regiment. I'm GOING to blow up. I'm GOING to dominate this league. I'm quick and I'm agile. I'm the guy you want to give the ball in the closing seconds. Not that it would matter because it's never my intention to have a game be close. I want 4 TDs by the end of the first half. Give me the ball to run, let me return a kick off, throw me the ball over the middle. I do NOT care how I get the ball, but it better be in my hands and you better get your ass out of the way and body someone. If I'm not going around you, I'm going through you. I'm going over you. I'm getting to pay dirt whether you like it or not.
Get ready. Jack Durden is coming to the NSFL, and Jack Durden is set on the right course to be dominant. Everyone says that the first season is a crap shoot. But there's one surefire bet. Jack Durden is going to be THE dominant running back in the league.
Get the trophies ready. It's about to go down.
