Some archetypes were obviously too high in caps for stats like man-to-man corner which had the highest useful TPE space of all archetypes and positions. Others were really hamstrung like run support safety and red zone WR. S9 Archetype Changes - evryday - 07-05-2018 This changes things. It was always between two positions/archetypes for me. S9 Archetype Changes - manicmav36 - 07-05-2018 Blocking TE looks beastly. S9 Archetype Changes - timeconsumer - 07-05-2018 (07-05-2018, 12:37 PM)manicmav36 Wrote:Blocking TE looks beastly. So doesn't blocking TE now make blocking RB kind of obsolete as a FB? You can get slightly more intelligence with the blocking RB but doesn't the weight increase from the blocking TE make a bigger difference? Nope, blocking back retains a type of versatility that the TE does not. TE, no matter what their stats, will never ever be able to run the ball effectively in this sim. They will get 1.5 YPC consistently. A blocking back can play at RB and a FB (FB still gets some carries in this sim and I'm adding more fullback dives to certain playbooks) without being a hindrance to their team. If you want a pure TE you get a blocking TE, but if you want versatility you want a blocking back. Well, and correct me if I'm wrong, I can currently play a blocking TE in the slot in one formation, be required to list him as a FB and then he's effective running the ball in the other formations. Correct? S9 Archetype Changes - HalfEatenOnionBagel - 07-05-2018 (07-05-2018, 11:48 AM)timeconsumer Wrote:Nope, blocking back retains a type of versatility that the TE does not.
