[div align=\\\"center\\\"]The NSFL Draft has come and gone in the blink of an eye. Almost one hundred prospects heard their names called in the inagural draft of the new football league, allowing some players to realize their dream of playing professional football. For some players, the draft wasn't a happy moment. Players projected to go in the higher rounds found themselves sitting at home near the phones past pick 70. One of those late drafted players was none other than University of Washington QB prospect Romeo Devitt.
In the days leading up to the draft, Devitt's draft stock was gaining momentum as his name started to get mentioned by several scouts during team meetings. Two teams reached out to Devitt prior to the draft, but neither of them made a promise to grab him or allow him to try to fight for the starting position of quarterback. When the draft starter, Devitt sat on a couch with some of his closest family members hoping to hear his name called in one of the earlier rounds. He didn't. When asked about his thoughts leading up to the draft, Devitt held nothing back.

The two teams to contact me about playing for them ended up not drafting me and I ended up on one of the teams to not contact me before the draft had started. Based on the experience of my agency, I thought I would easily go in the first two rounds of this draft. The Evans Player Agency and it's head agent, Brody Bryant, have produced champions in every single league that have ever took part in. I'm not kidding. Cyrus Lesnar in the SBA, Titan Kronos in the USFL and VHL, Everett Gabriel in WFL, Ambrose Charizard in GOMHL. This player agency is a pretty well known one and to see my name still on the board as kickers were getting drafted was pretty disheartening.
With his moderate pre-draft hype fizzling out, Romeo Devitt sat on his couch for over four hours until his name was finally called. The Otters finally took him with the 85th overall pick. As time went passed and nerves began to fluctuate, Devitt found himself eating food for every single pick that didn't end up being him. During his draft party, he engulfed 84 different plates of food. The staggering amount alarmed his family about his health. Devitt went to bed that night with a negative view of the sport he loved so much, but when he woke up that's when everything changed.
Quote:I woke up weighing over 300 pounds. I don't know how it is physically possible, but it seems like my body took all the food I ate and dispersed it throughout my body like an armor. I've always been a big guy compared to the average man, but now? I'm massive thanks to wings, chips, chili, the little weenies on a stick things, and I don't know who made them but pancakes. I ate a lot of pancakes."
Devitt showed up to Otter headquarters less than twenty four hours after the draft and blew the team away with his physical appearance. While initially drafting him to compete for the starting quarterback position, the sudden weight gain has made the coaching staff decide that his mass will be best utilized elsewhere....on the defensive line. The sudden increase in weight makes Romeo Devitt a player that the league will want to keep their eye on moving forward.
