Reddit Incentive Suspension - ExemplaryChad - 07-19-2018

Due to the fact that Roly had to step down as Reddit head (big thank you to him for all the work he’s done!) and we don’t have anyone to immediately replace him, the Reddit TPE program is going to be temporarily put on hold. That means that in future weeks, until another announcement is made, posting on Reddit will not award TPE in lieu of Weekend PTs.

Those of you who have been awarded TPE from Reddit already will be able to keep it. If you have already posted on Reddit for this week, you will be awarded TPE and you do not need to do the Weekend PT. If you have earned TPE via Reddit, please do not also claim the Weekend PT for that week.

We would like to commend everyone on the hard work they did regarding the Reddit initiative. We are not convinced that the plan should be scrapped altogether; we are just not ready to implement it without a department head in place. The discussion that was had was absolutely instrumental to the final formation of the initiative, and when the program does eventually get put into place, it will be better for it.

We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience. Should you have any questions, HO will be available to answer them.

It says suspension not axing of the entire program. As soon as we get somebody willing to run it, we will go ahead with what was voted.

The initial announcement offered 2 TPE per week, but said nothing about it taking the place of weekend PT. I would be willing to moderate this if it means being able to earn 2 extra TPE a week, but if it's just this or weekend PT, I'd pass.

Reddit OR weekend PT was what was voted in by GM's & HO and we will be going forward with this.

But that's not what was announced. An announcement was made promising 2 TPE for 4 posts there per week. I did my part and earned the TPE, and did the weekend PT as well, since, again, NOTHING was said about it being in lieu of another task. So now I just won't get that TPE?

Was no one in HO (who were cited as having been involved) aware what was promised until today?

Look, I get that suddenly adding 14-16 earnable TPE per week is an inflation many may not want, but retroactively taking it away and just acting like it wasn't promised is not the way to do it.

The very simple answer is the program as it existed in the initial announcement no longer exists. The announcement was not a form of contract, and any announcement can and will be modified and revoked based off GM and HO votes, same as anything else.

But you see that the announcement above doesn't say that the program was changed. That's why I'm upset, the attempt to act like the new system was ALWAYS the system. No statement that it was altered.

Also, modifying things after the fact is NOT something HO should be doing, especially in such a chickenshit way. You know that this is not handling it with character.

Now, SINCE it is being modified, and since I did the reddit posts AND weekend PT last week, will I receive anything for that extra work? Maybe money instead of TPE? As I said above, I understand the reasons for changing it, but robbing someone of a promised incentive without some attempt at compensation is pretty shitty.

To clarify,

- Anybody who posted 4 articles/graphics to the reddit page and also did their weekend PT are eligible for that 4TPE.

Going forward until we can find somebody to head the reddit proposal (WPT or reddit) there is no TPE going for posting on reddit.
