*Week 7/8 QB TANY/A - kckolbe - 07-28-2018 First off, last night had probably the most entertaining games I've seen. From the ridiculous train wreck upsets you couldn't wrap your head around (looking at you, Philly) to some really close games, I highly recommend re-watching. Now the numbers. Noble Attempts 230 Completions 108 Yards 1187 Sacks 30 Yards Lost 195 TD 1 INT 10 Rushes 8 Yards -2 TD 0 Fumbles 2 Plays 268 Yards 990 Adjustment -475 TANY/A 1.921641791 Fitzpatrick Attempts 274 Completions 165 Yards 1715 Sacks 29 Yards Lost 172 TD 9 INT 12 Rushes 15 Yards 37 TD 0 Fumbles 2 Plays 318 Yards 1580 Adjustment -405 TANY/A 3.694968553 Pennington Attempts 314 Completions 198 Yards 1844 Sacks 29 Yards Lost 173 TD 10 INT 12 Rushes 11 Yards 18 TD 0 Fumbles 0 Plays 354 Yards 1689 Adjustment -340 TANY/A 3.810734463 Akselsen Attempts 283 Completions 164 Yards 1727 Sacks 16 Yards Lost 107 TD 5 INT 7 Rushes 51 Yards 309 TD 1 Fumbles 2 Plays 350 Yards 1929 Adjustment -240 TANY/A 4.825714286 Applehort Attempts 303 Completions 172 Yards 2176 Sacks 25 Yards Lost 154 TD 13 INT 5 Rushes 7 Yards 35 TD 0 Fumbles 1 Plays 335 Yards 2057 Adjustment 12.5 TANY/A 6.17761194 Maximus Attempts 371 Completions 226 Yards 2807 Sacks 25 Yards Lost 171 TD 16 INT 8 Rushes 24 Yards 93 TD 1 Fumbles 1 Plays 420 Yards 2729 Adjustment -42.5 TANY/A 6.396428571 Boss Attempts 362 Completions 210 Yards 2895 Sacks 41 Yards Lost 273 TD 21 INT 8 Rushes 6 Yards -3 TD 0 Fumbles 0 Plays 409 Yards 2619 Adjustment 60 TANY/A 6.550122249 Blocksdale Attempts 322 Completions 202 Yards 2608 Sacks 18 Yards Lost 106 TD 14 INT 3 Rushes 2 Yards 1 TD 0 Fumbles 0 Plays 342 Yards 2503 Adjustment 145 TANY/A 7.742690058 Noble passed the ball only 41 times over both games combined, and completed only 15 of them for 183 yards. That's over TWO games. The Liberty scored 48 points over those two games, and won one of them. Despite a showing against NOLA that was one interception away from being the worst QB performance in league history, Noble is nowhere near on pace for sacks, interceptions, or TANY/A for the season. However, with only 1 TD and 10 INTs, he is on pace for worst TD:INT ratio, lowest season TD count, and, at 47.0%, worst completion percentage. Expect him to improve over the next four games over a very easy stretch of games, however. Fitzpatrick finally had some good performances, throwing 4 TDs and 375 yards against 0 interceptions and only being sacked once. Which game was that? Both combined. Yeah, despite performing VERY well, Fitz just didn't get many plays to rack up yards and boost his average. Oh well, those games still helped him a lot, and thus far he has the second-best TANY/A of any rookie QB since S1, with only Maximus ahead of him. After half a season of below average but consistent performances, Pennington had the best game of his career. It was only a 7.22, half a yard below what Blocksdale averages, but he did it against Orange County and led his team to their first win this year. He and Fitzpatrick are virtually tied in TDs, INTs, sacks taken, and yards, but with 3 easy games left on the schedule, expect him to finish noticeably ahead, even if not by as much as he should be. Akselsen has had a ROUGH season. Now, overall ratings may not mean much, but it's worth noting that Akselsen is at a 98 rating in the sim (same as Maximus). There's just so many games that are falling apart. The Wraiths are currently last in the conference, losing the tiebreaker to a team that is TRYING to tank. One thing to feel positive about is that the QB run game is starting to work, with 28% of his total rushing yards and only touchdown coming in Week 8. Expect Yellowknife to draft another QB next season, because the clock is ticking. Applehort is on a hot streak that seemingly won't end. After having a career game Week 5, he has now outdone that in Week 8. In fact, Weeks 5 through 8 are now his 2nd, 4th, 7th, and 1st best games by TANY/A after 3 seasons. The breakout year is official, and Applehort may just lead Colorado to their first playoff appearance since S1, ending the longest drought in league history. It's really a shame sacks and rushes aren't looked at more, because Maximus is actually having a better year than he is getting credit for. Honestly, I still think he is a bit underwhelming, and his remaining schedule doesn't look any better. After the best rookie season in league history (4.18 TANY/A), Maximus just hasn't "grown" much. The 300 yard streak is still going strong, and Boss is looking to finish one last season as one of the top QBs in the league. I mentioned Akselsen's overall sim rating as 98. Boss is coming in at a 90. If you look at his passing stats alone, the OC Hall of Fame-bound field general is killing it, but once rushes and sacks are counted, you see a mediocre QB being bailed out by great receivers. Boss has been sacked 41 times so far, most in the league, and has rushed for negative 3 yards. With 21 passing TDs, he's still getting the job done, but I think OC will be ready for Showbiz to take the reigns next year. So, I haven't done a lot of record-keeping on GOOD quarterbacks, but Blocksdale might be setting a record for lowest sack percentage in league history. In fact, he is avoiding all the mistakes. On 342 plays, he has been sacked only 18 times, thrown 3 interceptions, and fumbled 0 times. His consistency amazes me. His worst game would be the second-best QB in the league. And to make it even worse, his schedule is getting easier. *Week 7/8 QB TANY/A - iamslm22 - 07-28-2018 These are so entertaining. Thanks for the shout out, Avons doing his best to try and avoid mistakes. *Week 7/8 QB TANY/A - timeconsumer - 07-28-2018 Say what you will, but Boss still got it! He is 14 yards away from breaking 40k career regular season passing yards. The next closest is Bronko at 28.5k yards. Blocksdale all the way down at 24k career passing yards. *Week 7/8 QB TANY/A - kckolbe - 07-28-2018 (07-28-2018, 08:54 AM)timeconsumer Wrote:Say what you will, but Boss still got it! Maximus may be the only current QB to catch Boss in career yards, but if he played in S10, Applehort and Maximus would outperform him. His sack numbers are really starting to become a problem. *Week 7/8 QB TANY/A - Daybe - 07-28-2018 (07-28-2018, 10:18 AM)kckolbe Wrote:Maximus may be the only current QB to catch Boss in career yards, but if he played in S10, Applehort and Maximus would outperform him. I’ll have my 250 TPE corpse starting for tanking teams just to secure it. *Week 7/8 QB TANY/A - kckolbe - 07-28-2018 (07-28-2018, 12:31 PM)Daybe Wrote:I will get that record, no matter how many years it takes.
